Brief Report on WTC Planning Meeting Monday 16th Nov

At last night’s WTC planning meeting, Whittlesey based builders Rose Homes™ gave a brief presentation on developing land on Ramsey Road aka ‘The Bower Field’ – presently used as agricultural land.
As many are aware there have been (2) public meetings from 60+ residents along Ramsey Road/Church Street concerns of the infrastructure/speeding/parking and the volume of traffic/hgv’s.
Below is the statement I made and this was endorsed by WTC Mayor Cllr David Mason and Cllr Mrs Julie Windle.
These are ‘early stages’ but there are just too many issues to support this idea in it’s present form.

“I am speaking on behalf of the many residents on Ramsey Road and Church Street.
We cannot support any development on this piece of land.
There are numerous planning related constraints along with the current traffic issues and concerns
the residents have flagged up at two public meetings.
There are still valid points made on the refused planning appeal March 1990.”

I am unable at present to show the plan/diagram as I do not have permission to use it.

The other main item was that of the Larkfleet™ development along Eastrea Road, they are applying for phase 4 – Councillors are concerned about the access all the way through from Eastrea Road to Drybread Road being a ‘Rat Run’ and placing too much traffic on Drybread/Bassenhally Roads. WTC have suggested the developer engages with the Council to see if a resolution can be found.
