Update On Morley’s Old Petrol Pump & Garage Site

I have on good authority today been advised that work to clean up the site will probably start in July.
The build work will probably start in the autumn.

Good Engagement With Police & Safer Partnership

As advertised, today myself and Robin Sutton met up at Whittlesey Library with PCSO Shane Green and Fenlands Safer Neighbourhood Partnership – we only had one customer! – with a small issue. We haven’t seen Shane for a while, he informed us that he had been off for a while and then on ‘light duties’ during his recovery.
These meeting are a public event and are usually held monthly.
As usual there is a vast amount of information on the Whittlesey Neighbourhood Watch Website.

NQS PPG Meeting

12 members of the Patients Participation Group met at the New Queen Street Surgery.
2 senior members of the admin staff were in attendance.
An update on the amalgamation of New Queen Street into the Lakeside Group is almost certain to take place, the process is in the final negotiations.
How or if this impacts on patients services we were no told .
The timing is sometime after July this year.
I again, brought up the concerns of ‘some’ patients having problems and issues concerning the ‘telephone’ booking system many are not ‘happy’ with it.
Again it was explained why the system was trialled and introduced – the very large increase in population registering at NQS – I will continue to monitor the situation.
I have been fortunate that neither my wife or I have not used the ‘new’ system.
I also asked about the ambiguity around Blood Test results – when results come back as ‘clear’ but the symptom the patient has still exists patient told no further action required.
The PPG will support the patients awareness week – running from 10th to 15th June.

Make Yourself Heard Campaign

Although not cyber related, it is really important to tell you unless of course you already knew.
So, after 27 years as a cop, I did not know of how to make a silent 999 call and still get help, so I thought I would share the following with you.
If you are in an emergency situation and need to call the police but cannot speak or make a sound, here’s what you need to do:

DIAL 999 FROM YOUR MOBILE AND PRESS 55 WHEN PROMPTED

For an article relating to the disclosure above, please visit the following:

https://www.northyorkshire-pfcc.gov.uk/news/make-yourself-heard-campaign-launched-to-raise-awareness-of-silent-999-system/

I hope you never need to use this service, but if like me you had no knowledge of it, well now we have.

The Funny World of Local Politics? – Updated

Thought I would update on a quote made by a councillor at last Wednesdays Planning Meeting – This is not a ‘bash’ but their introduction to a planning application.

“If we councillors pass this application – we ALL want shooting”

What happened – The application was approved/passed!!!!

So we now have the list of candidates published.
Those conservative councillors who are automatically elected is NO fault of theirs it is because NO one was prepared to stand – NONE of the ‘Keyboard Warriors’ who for the past 4 years having a go….on social media.
Now I well accept and understand – it is not everyone’s passion, but when there are wards with several thousand electorate and NOT one is prepared to make a stand.
Well I am – I’ve been here before, won, lost, happy and some times disappointed, but hey that’s the ruff and tumble of ‘local politics’
Close on 10 years I’ve run my ‘Community Activist’ website, not all politics and much information and local news – always up to date.
I do have an opponent in the St Mary’s Ward South.

I don’t know the lady in question, and she doesn’t live in the ward, my campaign hopefully is a positive one – I am not here to ‘bash’ the opposition – I am here to promote what I have been doing for the last 10+ years….so to my (Now many) readers, I hope not to bore you too much over the next 4 weeks, but my campaign started in May 2015 when I lost my seat by a few 29 votes.
Here is an article written by Mr John Ellworthy November 12th 2010 © Cambs Times.
Take 5 minutes and ask whether ‘anything’ has changed – other than councillors allowances….

Healthwatch – Survey – Your Views Count

The survey is open until the end of April 2019 and enables patients/the general public to comment and make suggestions about improvements they would like to see.
It is local to the Peterborough area.
Follow this link I have tried it out and was safe to use.

Questions – Kings Dyke Crossing…. Time To Come Clean

I have deliberately left this post to see how many people viewed the ‘Minutes’ of the Combined Authority (posted yesterday) – 3,800 people viewed it.
I wonder why? – with all the activity on social media and my own postings and interest shown by the number of ‘visitors’ – that there has been NO official communication from anyone regarding the latest hold-ups.
There is a lot of rumour – perhaps some of it near the truth – We have county councillors, district councillors and town councillors, none have made any official comment as far I am aware.
There is a Whittlesey Town Council meeting this Wednesday – maybe the question will be asked? – There is a presentation by Mr Andrew Hodson from the Pegasus Group – See post above re agenda of WTC meeting for Wednesday 10th April.
Of course the get out clause being that councillors are not obliged to answer any questions made by the public during the public forum.

It is well time someone came clean on what the hold up is, what is the cause and how much more is the crossing going to cost (At todays costing).
I expect many more visitors to the article re CA minutes over the weekend.
