Is It Time For Fast Food Outlets To Clear Up.

Every morning our Street Cleaners do a fantastic job of clearing up our Town Centre, mainly littered with the previous nights take-away cartons, rubbish and discarded food.
It is especially bad after Friday and Saturday nights. Normally they then carry on with clearing up other areas.
Here is what was found ‘after’ the Street Cleaners had done their bit…..
Named as outside the “Curry Cottage” – We have asked for FDC’s Environmental Team to pay a visit and maybe get some help from this and other Take-Away outlets.

These photo’s show only a small part of the problem.

TV Licencing & HMRC Phishing

Yep, they are still sending them.

A NHW member sent me a voicemail recording from what was supposed to represent HMRC, but guess what? It wasn’t.
The automated call left on the answer machine stated the following:

THERE IS A TAX FRAUD CASE REGISTERED UNDER YOUR NAME
PRESS 1 TO GET CONNECTED TO HMRC
IN CASE YOU DON’T PRESS 1 AND YOUR CALL IS NOT CONNECTED TO US

A WARRANT WILL BE ISSUED UNDER YOUR NAME STRAIGHT AWAY AND YOU WILL BE ARRESTED SHORTLY

So, the above is not my bad grammar but the automated voice no doubt originating from outside of the UK.
These types of call will not go away, so let’s tell ourselves and others to be vigilant.

The TV Licensing phising email continues to gather momentum and continues to catch people out. The current version will go like this.

Receipt of an email enticing someone to click on the link to a very convincing webpage.
The victim will fill out numerous boxes about themselves including bank and phone details.

A short time later, the victim will receive a telephone call stating it is the fraud department of their bank. The caller will say that their bank account may have been compromised by a recent phishing email and that they should move their money from their current account to a safe account provided by the caller.

NOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The victim has given the suspect all they need to make a convincing telephone call.

Criminals are making hundreds of thousands of pounds across the UK so please don’t let it happen to us.

Martin Curtis (Ex WTC/FDC/CCC Councillor) @ FDC Today

During the Public Forum, Ex Councillor Martin Curtis questioned the ‘New’ Coucnil on their relationship with the public/electorate, the election process and access to FDC’s Website being not up to scratch. Telling the Council to listen to his views.
You can view the whole video – about 3 minutes – sound quality not very good – sorry.

You can view Council Leader Chris Boden’s reply to MC below – again sounds needs turning up….
