Same Old Tricks – Beware….

The following scam call has just been reported to me.
I received a call on my landline yesterday from 01438042813.
It was a recorded message stating my internet was going to be turned off within the next 4 hours and it wanted me to press 1 to connect to my internet provider.
I felt this was suspicious and disconnected the call.
I tried to ring the number back and it was not recognised.

I have contacted my Internet provider and they confirmed that this was not something that they would do.

Remember:

STOP – Taking a moment to stop and think before parting with your money or information could keep you safe.

CHALLENGE – Could it be fake? It’s ok to reject, refuse or ignore any requests. Only criminals will try to rush or panic you.

PROTECT – Contact your bank immediately if you think you’ve fallen for a scam and report it to Action Fraud.

Dash Camera Comes In Handy !!!!

Out on patrol today we were flagged down by a motorist who had just witnessed a act of fly tipping. We drove to the location and found a pile of tyres but no suspect. Unfortunately, the car registration number given was incorrect. The location of the tyres has been passed onto our partner agencies in the Council.
If you should come across any examples of fly tipping, please inform Fenland District Council. Do not engage with anyone who might be Tipping.
Leave that to the proper authority.

Traffic Chaos Looming

An hour after the lorry shed its load in the Pondersbridge area, leaving only North Bank/B1040/Thorney Road as the main route to/from Peterborough (unless you go via Guyhirn!)….we returned via North Bank to find:-

1/ Vehicle broken down blocking one side of the road.

2/ Another vehicle 100 metres further along ran out of petrol – saw the gent returning along the road with petrol can in hand…

3/ Just as we approached the D-In-D Locks – an ambulance turned around in the road ahead with ‘Blues Flashing’ – 2 minutes later another ambulance came by with Blues Flashing’ we heard that there had been a prang in the Storeys Bar Road area.

Just got to live with this – as the Kings Dyke Crossing gets going any accidents on our access roads is going to be quite challenging to say the least…

No real adverse reports (as yet) of any issues here in Whittlesey with the opening up of Pubs/Hairdressers/Cafes….
That said I did notice rather too many people in one of the ‘Turkish Mens Hairdressers’

Independence Day !!!

I/we have been in the US many times on July 4th – just by accident we were there in 2000
and witnessed a fantastic firework display. It is a very long climb up the hill/mountain from the car park to Rushmore…

Pubs & Hairdressers Open for Business

Many people H-A-P-P-Y – especially lots of ladies pre-booked their hairdressers – I don’t know if any opened up at Mid-night or if anyone was queing outside of Wetherspoons ‘The George’ at 6am this morning.

I understand there was a small number queing outside at around 9am, but by 10:30 there was no one outside except an employee directing people as they approached the doors.
