Police Maybe – Anywhere…..
Reports back to me – there has been a more visible policing in the area lately – I have spoken with officers from March and Wisbeach Police Teams this week whilst they were in town.
Evening, I hope your day has been a good one.
I am still at work at the moment , and just have time to give you all a quick message. Today, has been quite straightforward, school patrol and discussing issues with local residents.
Later a report of youths riding a moped on a recreation ground in a anti social manner, resulted in a serious discussion with said youths. Formal action against the moped owner may yet result.
Just another day at the Office.
Stay safe.

Very Important Information Re A&E – PCH
Please see below very important update on Accident & Emergency Services at Peterborough City Hospital……
We are writing to update you on a new pilot triage system at Peterborough City Hospital that has now launched to help make sure patients get the right care in the right place.
From 9am to 10pm, anybody who now attends Peterborough City Hospital Emergency Department (ED) without a referral from a medical professional, who hasn’t been brought in by an ambulance, or hasn’t called NHS 111 in advance will be reviewed by a health practitioner.
They will assess the patient’s symptoms and decide whether ED is the most appropriate place for their presenting complaint. If the patient does not require care from the ED, then the healthcare professional will redirect the patient to call NHS 111, or to visit the most appropriate healthcare service such as booking an appointment with their GP or visiting a local pharmacy.
We are trialling this new approach, following success with a similar pilot at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, to help better manage patient flows in ED and ensure those who need to attend are kept as safe as possible in line with current Covid-19 social distancing guidance. The initial pilot will run for eight weeks and will remain under constant review.
This pilot also supports the new national NHS 111 First initiative that encourages people to contact NHS 111 before going to an Emergency Department in order to ensure you get the right help at the right time.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Kind regards,
Vazeer Ahmed

Scam DO NOT Believe MI5 is Calling You….
A slightly unusual attempted scam telephone call to tell you about, this time the caller claimed to be from the UK’s Security Service MI5.
Interestingly, the intended victim later checked the telephone number displayed on their caller ID with the MI5 website, and the number matched.
The male caller then claimed he was in fact a Police Officer in Peterborough but was working with the MI5 agency.
The conversation is not clear from this point but it appears that the caller tried to get the recipient to go to their bank and withdraw some money and made reference to a National Insurance number, the caller then said that if they could not get to the bank then an alternative payment would be gift vouchers.
I have checked the MI5 website and there are only two contact numbers listed, 999 for an emergency and 0800 789 321 which is for the Anti-Terrorist Hotline.
The following is a screenshot from the MI5 website, and suggests MI5 are well aware that their organisation is being used in similar scams:
So, please remember, do not trust the number displayed on your caller ID because it can be spoofed/made to look genuine. Treat the number displayed with caution until such time you can be confident the caller is genuine, and that is not easy if you don’t recognise the voice because if you can’t, they could be anyone.
Any request for gift vouchers as a payment method suggests the call is a scam.
Any non-urgent questions or concerns relating to fraud and cyber crime please contact me.
Kind regards

School Parking – Message From Police
| With the new school year beginning, we’re reminding parents to be mindful when dropping off or picking up their children and not to fall into the habit of parking illegally or in a thoughtless or dangerous manner. The area outside school entrances must be kept clear to allow an unrestricted view for approaching drivers and riders or children wanting to cross the road. Road markings are there for a reason and drivers must not wait, park, or stop to set down and pick up passengers on school entrance markings. Parents are also reminded not to park inconsiderately and in a way which will inconvenience residents, other road users or in a way that obstructs the road. Motorists are advised to NOT stop or park: • near a school entrance • anywhere you would prevent access for emergency services • at or near a bus or taxi rank • on the approach to a level crossing crossing • opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space • near the brow of a hill or hump bridge • opposite a traffic island or (if this would cause an obstruction) another parked vehicle • where the kerb has been lowered to help wheelchair users and powered mobility vehicles • in front of an entrance to a property • on a bend • where you would obstruct use of cycle facilities except when forced to do so by stationary traffic. #FenlandNPT #7142 |

More & More Parking Concerns – Everywhere..
I know we are living in ‘exceptional times’ but that is no excuse for the for-ever ongoing issues on bad/illegal/inconsiderate parking all over Fenland.
We were ‘promised’ by WTC/FDC/CCC Cllr Boden that this was going to be addressed some 18 months ago….what have we heard – nothing…well I will ask him what the latest is….
In the meantime.
There is a 7.5 tonne weight limit in town…exception deliveries.
I have been informed there is a ‘FB®’ page dedicated to bad/illegal parking in Whittlesey…
It has a somewhat derogatory name/title (typical maybe of some FB™ people) so I’ll just put in the link without naming it…. (make your own mind up…) Click Here
This morning….
