Message From Public Health England This Morning.

POSTER Vaccines_JoinTheMillions

Every vaccination gives us hope.
The NHS is now in its second phase of the Covid-19 vaccination programme. Many more people will soon be invited to join the millions already vaccinated. Here’s everything you need to know about the next phase of the rollout.

The best way out of this pandemic
The vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and those around you from the virus.
Vaccinated people are far less likely to get symptoms from Covid-19. And are even more unlikely to get seriously ill, be admitted to hospital, or to die from it. There’s growing evidence that vaccinated people are less likely to pass the virus to others.

The vaccine reduces chances of hospitalisation by 85%.

The vaccine has now been offered to the most vulnerable groups in our society. All adults aged between 18 and 49 are now being prioritised in age-descending order. The NHS will let you know when your vaccine is ready for you.

It’s the biggest vaccination programme in NHS history and has already saved thousands of lives by preventing the spread of Covid-19.

How much protection will the vaccine give me?
For maximum protection, you need to get two doses, so it’s important you go back when you are contacted.

Even after having the Covid-19 vaccine, it’s essential that everyone continues to follow Covid-19 restrictions whether they have had the vaccine or not.
To follow social-distancing guidance, wear a face covering and remember hands, face, space and fresh air.

Where should I go for more information?

Whittlesey Herritage Centre.

With the change of ‘Mayor’ of the Peterboro’ & Cambridgeshire Combined Autority.
Our WTC Leader Cllr David Mason has asked for confirmation that ‘funding’ from the previous administration will still be honoured.
There has been some positive indications that the Mayor of the CPA finds the project exciting.

Young Cyber Sprinters

Today, the National Cyber Security Centre launched a new educational game with resources aimed at teaching cyber security to 7 to 11 year olds.

If you have a young family, or work within primary education or with youth organisations, then you may find it provides an excellent opportunity to help teach young children how to stay secure online.

For more information and to play the game visit;

Speed Data From MVAS Units

These ‘Boxes’ you may have seen on Lamp-posts around our area.
Whittlesey Town Council have invested in 8 of these units so far.
They have come about because of the Publics concerns about speeding issues.

You maybe aware the Police have limited resources and priorities.
The data will at last give robust information which can the be passed onto various authorities as conclusive evidence.

Below is an ‘Excel’ Version of the data…click on it to read.
