Why? – Do Electors want my leaflet outside of St Mary’s South.
I have been asked by many people about my election promo, of course it has been delivered to those residents who live within the St Mary’s Ward South….
Maybe they are not too impressed with what they have received thus far from elsewhere.
I’ll post it – and urge everyone to use their vote this Thursday.
Naturally I would like the residents of St Mary’s South to vote for me.…
Should I be successful I may be the only candidate ‘who’ will be able to hold The Council to account.
With more than usual ‘apathy’ and ‘discontent’ with National Politics – we all know why!
But local elections are about ‘local concerns and issues’ – I say – just look at MY track record. MY attending many, many meetings and reporting on this web-blog.
Just out of interest – Nearly ALL present councillors ‘promised’ to keep their electorate informed at the last elections – Alas it never happened – the odd post on Facebook…and that’s the lot.
You will see and hear what happens here on this site – that’s why I regularly get 3,000 hits a day…..Just ‘click’ on the picture to enlarge, click a 2nd time to further enlarge.

This Mornings – Scam – Why Not Attend Our Talk
This morning (29th) SE received a phone call.
I have just had a different scam phone call purporting to be from BT.
Female voice this time and more realistic, Nichole from BT on 017324 18933 stating my Broadband is compromised and to press 1 on the key pad.
I hung up and barred the call (first time I have done that) but thought I would let you know.
SE.

It’s All Going Very Well – Connie’s Walk-To- Remember.
You may have seen a post a couple of weeks ago, where my wife Connie is doing another sponsored Walk-To-Remember to support The Sue Ryder Foundation based at Thorpe Hall Peterborough. I am sure most readers have heard of the Sue Ryder Group – who do fantastic work and support both to and for patients and their relatives.
We are pleased to update, as of today 27th May – Connie has raised £294:00 towards her goal of £300 – so we’re nearly there +++++ A BIG Thank you to everyone who has donated to this very good cause.
The Walk takes place on the 19th May by which time we hope the target goal will have been well beaten.
Please help The Sue Ryder Foundation by supporting Connie’s Walk-To-Remember you can donate on her ‘Just Giving Page’

Business Forum Meeting & Shop Closures
A well attended meeting last night with 18 members, with a presentation by Mr Gary Garfield a corporate director at FDC about Vision 2020 (Wisbech).
http://www.wisbech2020vision.co.uk/
I’ve attended some of these presentations as far back as 2012 and to say progress has been somewhat slow – the plan now goes forward by 40 years! – Mr Garfield acknowledged that our closeness to Peterborough didn’t really impact any of the benefits of the 2020 plan for Wisbech. The latest is to build in the region of 8 – 10,000 new houses.
A variety of other topics were aired at the meeting, including another sponsored walk that will now probably take place in September – more information when confirmed.
My thanks to PD for informing me of several other shops/businesses that have recently closed – the much publicised ‘Subway’ not paying their staff wages featured in the Peterborough Telegraph©, so besides as reported yesterday – ‘Antidote’ closing, the Eastern European/Polish shop ‘Felix’ closed a few weeks ago.
Looks very much like Whittlesey is suffering a bit, with these latest small businesses.
‘Wrights’ having been closed for several months along with the Ex ‘RSPCA’ shop.

Maybe there are other factors affecting our area which ‘we’ are not fully aware of.
Hopefully some of these vacant businesses will be occupied again in the near future.

Short lived Healthy Food & Drink Shop – Antidote Closed
Sorry to hear/see that ‘Antidote’ has closed.
a ‘Healthy’ Food and Drink Shop.
‘Lilly’ from Peterboro’ has probably miscalculated on the clientele she was marketing.
Only opened in late September – she tried hard –
