The Future For Fenland

There have been events over Fenland Towns. The feedback so far is that the form is somewhat lengthy – that said I can only ask and encourage more to fill in the form.
What is put down in this plan (Whittlesey) can and will determine the Publics future for many years to come.
Please have a go…. https://www.fenland.gov.uk/newlocalplan

Mud Walls Meeting Update

The Whittlesey Mud Wall Group met yesterday at The Town Hall. 7 Members + FDC’s Conservation Officer Kattie in attendance.
Mike Shearing (Secretary) reported on some excellent engagement events over the year and that the ‘small’ Mud Wall on Grosvenor Road/Near the Dog Grooming Ship had the tiles replaced and was looking better.
The Whittlesey Mud Walls are historically unique in our part of Cambridgeshire – they do exsist in other parts of the country.

Yellow Poles – Update

Having last week spoken with a number of Cambs Highways and Road Works officials, they confirm that ALL fixed Speed Camera’s in Cambridgeshire are to be replaced.
The one’s from Stanground through Kings Delph/Peterborough Road/A605/Syers Lane & Eastrea Road are to become Average Speed Camera’s.

Work has halted due to ‘SIM card’ issues, as they will all be networked.

It is my understanding that the project should be completed by the end December and at that point Cambridgeshire Police will take them over.

EE Customers Beware – It Is Happening in Cambs

Please be aware of the following text message that is circulating within Cambridgeshire. If you are not an EE customer then hopefully it should become suspicious to you and that it is a scam. If you are an EE customer then please be alert.
The link in blue will take you to a spoof website in that it is controlled by criminals leading you to think you are logging into your account, but you will only be revealing your email and password who may then access your ee account and/or other accounts especially if you use the same password for more than one online account.

Everything after the HTTPS in the link should be suspicious to you.
The correct domain name for ee is https://ee.co.uk

If you receive a text/email/instant message from a recognisable company or organisation and you are unsure about the content, then please contact them using a trusted method and not by replying to the email or text.

Use a unique strong password per email or social media account, ideally every online account you have should use a unique strong password.

Should anyone have any questions please contact me or visit ncsc.gov.uk.

The spoof/scam looks like this below…..

Flu Jab Scam

Although ‘most’ will have had their jab this year – there is a scam going around.

Please be aware of the following scam. Please forward to family, friends and colleague.

Flu Jab Scams: According to NHS England, an elderly lady has lost £5000 in a recent scam. The lady was called by a person purporting to be a GP at her local practice. The fraudster informed the victim that for a £1.50 fee the GP could attend their

home to administer the flu jab and requested bank details in order to confirm the appointment for more information see the link below.
