Lakeside Healthcare @ The NQS
Important Patient Announcement.
As of the 01st July the partners of New Queen Street and Stanground Surgeries in Whittlesey and Stanground are delighted to announce that they are to merge with Lakeside Healthcare Group.
The ‘super-practice’ will serve the healthcare needs of more than 180,000 patients across four counties: Northamptonshire, Rutland, Lincolnshire & Cambridgeshire.
This is very exciting news for all patients and staff as it ensures sustainability and continuity of service provision as well as terrific opportunities for future growth.
We remain deeply committed to providing high quality primary care services for this and future generations in our region.
RG Note:- We at the Patients Participation Group of the New Queen Street Surgery were aware of this ‘merger’ – but details were confidential.
What is ‘actually’ means for patients we have yet to find out.
I understand that the PPG will still have an ‘interface’ dialogue with the ‘new’ practice regime – and I will try and attend the meetings, these do sometimes clash with other meetings I attend on the same evening.

A Pilgrim Once Again….
Some years ago, Thorney Abbey advertised for ‘Pilgrims’ to join them for the anniversary of St. Botolph (Thorney Abbey, now the Church of St Mary and St Botolph, was a medieval monastic house established on the island of Thorney).
I decided to join with them in their celebrations – however – I found too my amazement I was the only ‘Pilgrim’ to join them, I spent a few hours and many cups of tea and cakes with the few members of the Abbey.
Today I was humbled to be able to carry out another ‘Pilgrimage’ to the Iona Abbey, it is located on the Isle of Iona, just off the Isle of Mull on the West Coast of Scotland.
It is one of the oldest Christian religious centres in Western Europe.
quite a surreal experience.
I am grateful to The Argil and Bute
Council for allowing me to take my car over to the small Island.
Peace, quiet and a few hours ‘off’ the grid, alas I was not the only ‘Pilgrim’ on this occasion.
So besides St Columba establishing the Abbey, Macbeth is buried there along with ex Labour Party leader John Smith.
