A605 Whittlesey Road – B1095 Milk & Water Drove Junction Improvement Scheme. Latest.
A traffic regulation order has been published regarding the impending road closures that will be necessary as the work progresses however this is only a general order so I have asked highways officers for clarity as clearly it would not be acceptable for the road to be closed from February 2020 to August 2021 as stated in the order.

The order is an open timescale to secure the roadspace, given that this project has considerable strategic importance and is being jointly funded by PCC and the Combined Authority.
An absolute deadline of March 2021 has been set for the completion of the project and the first set of works will be some exploratory investigations by Cadent Gas on their pipeline undertaken using a full closure of the (B1095) Milk and Water Drove and temporary two-way traffic signals on the (A605) Whittlesey Road.

Cadent are expecting to start works on Monday 17th February 2020 for up to four weeks. They will then leave site and the closure will be removed.
The design of the project is still being finalised and once completed, a detailed programme of works can begin.

It is expected that the main construction work will commence in Autumn this year.
When the design is completed, I will share the detail and the traffic management plan with you. (Cllr Harper)

(RG) Milk & Water Drove was closed for a number of weeks last year and this caused serious and severe distruption. The ‘perfect storm’ nearly happened – Milk & Water closed -/- King Dyke Crossing had a failure -/- North Bank was closed —— The only way out was along the B1040 to Thorney which was luckily still open.

This road & junctions has to close for the turning to be modified when turning ‘right’ from the Park Farm round-about to the Pondersbridge turning.

‘If’ the KD Bridge goes ahead -/- again there will some disruption for 12/18 months.
We await to see what the Highways and Traffic Management is going to give us.
I hope they have the manners to at least inform us – so we/I may pass it on.

I am obliged and grateful to the lady who sent this message to PD – In my post of 08th January I asked for some common sense in what appears to be an escalating ‘war’ we and most areas are having about ‘a parking space’ – You could have read the ‘update’ on Parking I published on my WTC Council report.

Here it what I have been passed….

Last week my elderly mother parked her car opposite her friends house & in front of another friends garage whom had given her permission to park there. 
They went out for a couple of hours in her friends car & she left her car legally & securely parked. 
On her return she found her car had been moved and abandoned in the middle of the road !!!! 
Apparently a neighbour who has difficulty getting his van off his drive had jacked up her car & moved it so he could access his drive .

I’m sorry but what on earth ????? 
Am I stating the obvious when I say ‘Do not buy a van that you cannot get on your drive, 

My mum was left extremely distressed by this incident, she is 77 years old & does not deserve to be bullied in this way, not to mention the fact that her car was left abandoned in the middle of the road, what if a fire engine or ambulance had needed to get through ?

Suffice to say I am absolutely furious and have contacted the police .
The reason for my post is to ask if anyone else has experienced anything like this along Falcon lane ?
