Virtual Duck Race

Today would have been the annual Mayor of Whittlesey Duck Race on the Bower raising valuable funds for the Mayors good causes. This event would normally attract hundreds of families as they enjoyed the 1000 ducks making their way down The Bower and at £1 a time this would have been a great financial boost the Mayors good causes which were Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall, The Whittlesey Army Cadets and The Young Technicians, however all is not lost and even though no money will be raised from the sale of tickets you can still enjoy the thrill of the 2020 race which with improvisation and editing will hopefully give you something to smile about. As a bit of fun for the children we ask you to list the winning time that you think will be of the winning duck its a free entry . The time range will be between 3mins 30 to 5 mins 30. The length of the course is 22 metres. Whoever is the closest the Mayor will donate a small prize to the closest once we are all back to normal. The race will be shown here on Facebook Whittlesey Sports Association at 6pm, entries must be made by 5.30pm – Come on give it a go.

Mayor of Whittlesey Cllr Mrs Julie Windle
