Update on Boots Pharmacy

I just want to be clear on the interpretation on my previous postings, I am not encouraging or advocating that any patient has to change where they get their medication from – this is not my intention, what I have posted is that patients have a choice.
It is their choice where they obtain their prescription/medication from.

Boots Pharmacies in the Whittlesey area :-
Will still be available for those who collect their medication.
Patients can order online and have their medications delivered for free though the post.
Shop managers who identify patients in a vulnerable group have the discretion to waive the delivery charges.

If you think there are any issues – I encourage you to visit Boots Pharmacy and ask to speak with the manager.

Concerns over ‘New Craze’ in Whittlesey

Kid from SHSC laid on road in front of car then just before car ran over him jumped up.
Apparently a new craze
Can’t see any body reporting to police just ranting on FB

This stupid craze has been around in various forms in the past where it be Roads or Railway Lines…sometimes known as ‘Planking’

This is grossly stupid to say the least especially if you on the receiving end.
Can I please ask, if you witness this stupid craze – please report it to the Police….
Posting on social media will do nothing at all – and it is only a matter of time before something more serious happens…..

Prime Telephone Number Scam – Beware

I have received notification of a series of suspected scam telephone calls here in Cambridgeshire.
Fortunately, the receiver missed the calls but when they did some research they were clearly from outside of the UK and on the balance of probabilities they were going to be either a divert to a premium rate number or another form of scam in which you would lose some money.
The missed call numbers are as follows:

+381 60 0009116
+224 637817031
+224 633550920
+224637817636
+224639954558
+26775110729
+5926850838
+26775074938.

Research on the numbers identify the following countries of origin; Serbia, Guinea, Guyana, Botswana.
However, please remember that with number spoofing, no number listed on a caller identifier can be trusted. No number, number withheld, international number and even local STD codes should be treated with caution. If you don’t recognise the voice of the caller be wary.
Personally, I allow most telephone calls to go into answer machine or I use a feature on my phone that requests the caller to text me. Very rarely does the caller text me.

Many thanks
Nigel

One Big & One Smaller Success

This week due to some active community residents/NHW & councillors, a serious drug dealer has been raided and will be charged with a number of offences.

There are other individuals who are openly dealing in serious drugs here in our town.
If you have concerns please report it to the Police, it is so easy.

Our officers are committed to tackling drug related issues within Cambridgeshire and we welcome any information you may have about drug use or dealing.

To help keep our communities safe, we encourage you to look out for common signs of drug dealing and let us know if you see anything suspicious.

Another way professional criminals deal drugs in particular neighbourhoods, known as ‘cuckooing’. Cuckooing involves offenders targeting the homes of vulnerable people and using it to deal drugs.

Those who usually become vulnerable to cuckooing are lonely, isolated and drug users themselves. In fact, dealers usually offer them free drugs as a way of getting into the victims home. The property is then used to deal and manufacture drugs for a short period of time before the dealer moves onto somewhere new.

If you think this may be happening where you live, please get in touch so that we can prevent vulnerable people falling victim to this crime.

Abandoned vehicles (4 +1) (No MOT’s or Vehicle Tax) have been removed from Station Road Whittlesey, again this came about by ‘team work’ by several individuals, NHW and local Councillors.

Whittlesey & District
(Coates, Eastrea, Turves & Pondersbridge)
have their quarterly meeting.

Tuesday 10th September @ 7pm

Whittlesey Town Council Offices @ Peel House
Queen Street Whittlesey. (The Old Police Station)

Anyone is welcome to come along….
