Most’ of us have found out by default – I and more than half of Whittlesey Town Councillors are not on Facebook™ (you know my resoning) – so why is there a dedicated Kings Dyke Facebook site administered by Cambs CC – and none of  us were told about it.

CCC leader Steve Count ‘promised’ us and the public that ‘we’ would be kept fully informed by ‘him’ – that was last September.

The Police and Crime Commissioner’s Youth and Community Fund
aims to support youth and community groups to deliver activities to;

• Support preventative work and early intervention approaches to divert young people and vulnerable adults away from offending and re-offending;
• Build relationships with young people improving engagement between young people, their communities, and organisations working in them.
• Promote the involvement of young people in building community resilience to crime and vulnerability through active participation aimed at building better understanding of the needs of young people;
• Work to reduce the vulnerability of young people and lessen the chance of them becoming a victim of crime.

This Fund is open to voluntary and community organisations who can apply for grants of up to £3,000 towards their project. More information about the terms and conditions of the funding can be found in the guidance document here

To say I have been inundated with complaints about FDC/CA (Fenland District Council/Combined Authority) latest press release is an understatement.
Those who came to me – are asking the wrong person – sorry I am doing my best but it was the Leader of FDC Cllr Chris Boden who made the communication – I am not a FDC Councillor but as you are very aware lobby at all levels and continue to do so.
Not in last place as Whittlesey appears to always be (except when there’s some bad news) – but not even a sniff of a mention, especially again after the ‘recent’ Master Plan communications.
On yet another communication – yesterday…

I just thought I would let you know that one horse Whittlesey continues to be exactly that, today  I had to go to the dentists in Yaxley for 9am left at 8-15 stopped outside the Letter B for 15 minutes turned round and went to the A605 and sat opposite the West End store for 20 minutes, gave up about  8-50 and came home, re-booked for a later appointment.
It must be very frustrating if you have to do that every day. I gather the drugs trade is thriving in Whittlesey, ++++ was telling me a few days ago that there was a lot of Russians attacking a house at am in the Limes to take over the cannabis that was growing in the house, police turned up after half an hour and it was all over and moved to West End.

20200204 Council leaders welcome multi

The ruling of Whitacre vs Sainsbury’s is now in the public domain.
As many know I have reported nearly every meeting which was open to the public and Council Meetings since this – I always use the term ‘Travesty’ came about.

There is a partial article in Cambs Times © This is not the full paperwork.
Many will comment on who/why/how maybe responsible for this ‘Travesty’

My advise is to be careful as there could be an appeal and anything which is in the public doman (including me) could be seen to jeopardize any potential proceedings.

There is only one winner at present and that is Sainbury’s – Whittlesey – Its surrounding Villages have lost out – The potential of a Country Park. A Business Park and the posibility of a new health centre has all but gone….

Most of you will know that I am the fraud and cyber security advisor for Cambridgeshire Police, however, I also have another role in support of a national programme led by the National Crime Agency called ‘Cyber Choices’.

Cyber Choices is designed to raise the awareness amongst young people of the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and to encourage and develop young people into the cyber security industry.

If you know or have children between the ages of 11 and 17 years, then I wanted to make you aware of an exciting national police cyber competition being supported by Cambridgeshire Police called ‘The Matrix Challenge’.

The Matrix Challenge online qualification game went live on the 20th of January 2020, and will run for 4 weeks. It takes around 30 minutes to complete and covers 5 key topics, Computer Misuse Act 1990, staying safe online, steganography, fault finding in lines of code and cracking a cipher. The challenge will also include a timed multiple choice quiz.

The top online entries in the eastern region will then be invited to attend a regional semi-final day which will be held in Bedford. The top 3 competitors in each age category (11-14 and 15-17) will then be selected for a UK grand final in July 2020 where top technology prizes and the chance to be crowned The Matrix Challenge Champion.

I am pleased to announce that Vodafone will be the national key sponsor for the final.

So far, 222 young people across Cambridgeshire have entered, so I would just like to raise your awareness of the competition and encourage your family and friends to register and take the initial 30 minute challenge. Entrants do not need to be computer experts, but like a challenge, some excitement and fun.
