Flood Warning Back In Effect – Again

It ‘appears’ that the Environment Agency/CCC & PCC are trying to appease everyone.
Managing the flood risk/flood area’s and attempting to keep the Road(s) open.

North Bank Road alongside the River Nene, east of Peterborough and west of Dog-in-a-Doublet Sluice

Flooding is expected – immediate action required

Heavy rain has been falling on the River Nene catchment over the past week. During periods of high tide the river will be unable to discharge into the sea, resulting in tide lock conditions. This is likely to lead to localised flooding at North Bank Road from the morning on Tuesday 25th February onwards. Whilst the Flood Warning is in force, the Local Authority will close North Bank Road. Diversionary routes will be put in place and further updates will be available through local media. This Flood Warning is expected to stay in force for the next few tides. Please follow diversionary routes until the local authority re-open the road. We are operating the Dog-in-a-Doublet sluice to discharge water during low tide, and reduce the flood risk as much as possible. We will be closely monitoring the situation, and this message will be updated again later on Tuesday 25th February.

Shame Whittlesea & Fenland Loose Out….

Credit is due (in this instance) to Metro Mayor Palmer, Cambs CC leader Cllr Count and many Whittlesey/Fenland Councillors for ‘trying’ to get more trains to stop at our station.
I have attended many engagements/meetings over many years, and getting any committment from either the rain operators or Network Rail is a really uphill struggle, in Network Rails’ case near none exsistent.

Metro mayor criticises failure to improve rail services in Fenland after government funding announcement

Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough James Palmer said he is ‘deeply disappointed’ by the lack of ambition in the plans announced today for longer trains and more seats for CrossCountry passengers.

Since I am accountable for this website – it is ‘targeted’ by scammers regularly – I run professional high end anti-virus/anti-scam/anti malware software throughout all my computers….I do not place unreliable links or websites on this blog and have never had any reports of anyone ‘catching’ anything from this site…my software monitoring is 24/7

Todays hacker is below….sorry matey not this time…it came with an attachment – which was picked up ‘live’ from all three programs…(no attachment posted).

If you are not 100% sure of an e-mail or an attachment then bin it and don’t open it….

BIG conversation: Feedback summary report

I wanted to share with the feedback we have received from our recent BIG conversation with the local people in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
The BIG conversation was launched on 27 September and ran until 20 December 2019. It was designed to help the CCG better understand what matters most to the local community when it comes to healthcare services, as well as asking for their views, ideas and feedback from the community and clinicians about healthcare services in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

For the first time ever, we went out to ask for people’s views before making any specific decisions, making the BIG conversation an important engagement activity (but not a formal consultation). We now have a far clearer view of what matters most to local people when it comes to the provision of their healthcare services, which will help to inform our commissioning decisions in the future.

In total, we received almost 6,000 responses with a wealth of feedback and comments from all over our area that we wanted to share with you. We have enclosed a summary of the feedback we received, and if you would like to find out more the full feedback report can be found on our website here: bit.ly/NHSBigConversation

The feedback we received will create a framework that our Governing Body Members (who ultimately sign off any big decisions at the CCG) and our teams can work from when developing future healthcare solutions. However, it’s important to note that this wasn’t a formal consultation, so we won’t be making any big changes without speaking to you again about our proposals.

I hope you find this of interest and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Yours sincerely
