Fairly Quiet Over The Week-End

No real adverse reports (as yet) of any issues here in Whittlesey with the opening up of Pubs/Hairdressers/Cafes….
That said I did notice rather too many people in one of the ‘Turkish Mens Hairdressers’

Sunday 11:45 outside ‘The George Hotel – Market Place Whittlesey)

Independence Day !!!

I/we have been in the US many times on July 4th – just by accident we were there in 2000
and witnessed a fantastic firework display. It is a very long climb up the hill/mountain from the car park to Rushmore…

Restuarants & Cafes Coming Out of Lock-Down

Many of our restuarants have been doing take-aways and deliveries.
Most will be opening up today.
There are too many for me to list and contact –
Most are either contactable by phone/e-mail or have updated their social media accounts.

Most will have to pre-book – some like The George (Wetherspoons) first come basis….

Pubs & Hairdressers Open for Business

Many people H-A-P-P-Y – especially lots of ladies pre-booked their hairdressers – I don’t know if any opened up at Mid-night or if anyone was queing outside of Wetherspoons ‘The George’ at 6am this morning.

I understand there was a small number queing outside at around 9am, but by 10:30 there was no one outside except an employee directing people as they approached the doors.

Summer News-Letter PCC

I am pleased to report that Whittlesey Neighbourhood Watch Group, have been part of several initiatives contained within Acting Police & Crime Commissioners News Letter.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 restrictions, we have been working behind the scenes in many area’s in/around Whittlesey & Villages….our group have supported well over a hundred elderly and vulnerable residents on a very regular basis.
This is now easing and to their credit many of the NHW Co-ordinators are still maintaining ‘their’ Good Neighbour engagements.
