More Expected Road Works A605 – Larkfleet Homes
Larkfleet Homes are building a small estate closer to Whittlesey and as part of their Section 278 agreement they have to complete works at their entrance off the A605, and in addition complete works on the roundabout itself before more resurfacing works.
Larkfleet Homes – 4 weeks from either the 27th or 28th October dependant on Lindum
(See previous post)
Larkfleet Homes will start works at the immediate completion of the Lindum homes job. They will be working under 2 way lights Monday to Sunday from 09.00 – 15.00 with the road clear outside those hours and will be clear by the end of November.
Expected disruption Significant
Both companies will be putting out advance warning signage to expect delays.

Time Someone Got Their Act Together – A605 – Lindum Homes
Only a few weeks ago, the A605 was closed for sometime whilst contractors for ‘Lindum Homes’® installed water and sewage piping, on completion there were issues with the road within a day and more emergency works required.
Today we have received notification of the following works (A605)
Lindum Homes have built a new estate next to Aster cars on the A605 between Peterborough and Whittlesey. They had a lengthy closure earlier this year to facilitate all the connections in the highway outside the site.
Unfortunately the reinstatement is failing badly and they need to repair and fully reinstate the works.
Lindum Homes – 5 days –
07:00 Friday the 23rd October to 15:00 Tuesday the 27th October
Lindum homes require a single lane closure and two way traffic lights. Their proposed working hours will be 07:00 – 18:30 Friday to Monday and will only be working 09:30 to 15:00 on Tuesday 28th for white lining works using “Stop and Go” boards. They will not start work till 09:00 on the Sunday. The lights will have to remain in place due to the depth of the works.
In addition they will be putting out advisory 30mph signs.
Expected disruption Significant
Both companies will be putting out advance warning signage to expect delays.

Kings Dyke Crossing News Update from CCC
Friday 07:29 King’s Dyke crossing scheme
A message from the chairman of the highways and transport committee,
Councillor Ian Bates said:
Our contractor Jones Bros continue to progress well despite the poor weather the team has experienced over the past couple of weeks.
You can see from the overhead picture the earthworks near the western roundabout is taking shape and preparation work is underway for the start of the construction of the railway bridge. If you check out the middle picture – this is the location of the bridge abutment on the north side of the railway, this is part of the foundations for the bridge. What is a ‘bridge abutment’ you may ask – they are the supporting element of the structure, it’s where the bridge beams at each end of the bridge sit on.
Finally, the main compound (the green cabins), which Steve mentioned in his update, is up and running. These will provide Jones Bros office space and welfare facilities as the workforce increases – they have been carefully designed to maintain social distancing.
Keep safe everyone and remember the three simple actions we must all do to keep on protecting each other – wash hands, cover face and make space.
Regards
Ian

I’ve Had One – A COVID-19 Test
No I’ve not had any symptoms…. I and several thousands including a number I know in Whittlesey are being tested on behalf of the ‘ONS’ (Office of National Statistics).
It is purely voluntary, and can opt for a one off….or every week for a month – and/or every month for a year.
If the tests do reveal any positive results, those volunteering will receive a phone call and then of course follow the rules.
The tests being carried out on behalf of the ONS – are done by a worker coming to your house he/she remains outside and is covered up…..
If you are out and about (many are) then please why not download the ‘App’
