Flood Warning
B1040 Thorney to Whittlesey Road to the South of the River Nene
Flooding is expected – immediate action required
Heavy rain has fallen on the River Nene catchment over the last week. The Whittlesey Wash flood storage reservoir is being operated to protect nearby communities from flooding. The rising levels in the Washlands has resulted in flooding of the B1040 road today, Monday 4th January. Whilst the Flood Warning is in force, the Local Authority may close the B1040 for safety reasons. Diversionary routes will be put in place and further updates will be available through local media. This Flood Warning is expected to stay in force for several days until water levels recede. Please follow diversionary routes until the local authority re-open the road. We are closely monitoring the situation, and this message will be updated on Tuesday 5th January, or as the situation changes.

Have Your Say on Policing Priorities
Have Your Say on Policing Priorities In Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
As your Acting Commissioner, it’s important for me to understand your views about crime and how it is being tackled in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
I would be very grateful if you could spend a few moments completing the below survey.
Your responses will help to inform the next Police and Crime Commissioner, elected by you in May 2021, your views and make sure the next Police and Crime Plan reflects these.
The survey looks into the areas of policing people in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough would like to see their Constabulary prioritise. All information collected and answers submitted will be anonymous in line with our privacy policy.
This questionnaire should only take a few minutes.
The survey can be accessed via this link: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/DNTBBTX

Beware Again – Latest COVID Vaccine Scam Alert
An NHS related scam text message has just been brought to my attention. I have no additional information at this time, but we should all be aware and exercise caution that this and similar messages are being received across the county.
The text message below, states that the recipient is entitled to a vaccine and to receive more information they should click on the link in blue.
If the link is clicked, then the recipient will see ‘we need to prove ownership of address’ they are then asked to provide bank account, sort code and a full bank card number. SCAM! This is NOT genuine.
Criminals continue to send phishing communications in their pursuit to deceive people into clicking on links and then to provide their private information such as email addresses, passwords, banking information.
For genuine COVID-19 related advice including vaccination information,

Peace & Quiet Sunday – We Hope…
No tree pictures this Sunday – a visit we made to the small island of ‘Iona’ – summer 2019 – a quiet and surreal experience I have to say.
Another long jouney to get there, we visited 6 Islands of the Inner Hebrides in a 3 week period – a nice weather no midges…The island of ‘Coll’ – wonderful people…
