It my understanding that this planned Road Works is still going ahead – if I am told otherwise I will re-post…. several weeks of works..
The ‘Red Line’ part is what is being worked on and the ‘Blue Line’ is the diversion route.

The lovely Isles of Scilly – which we booked to visit last January, looked like it was never going to happen after the March restrictions kicked in – our date to travel was July 12th and as luck would have it the lifting of the restrictions at the beginning of July opened up the opportunity. A long journey from here to Penzance – but 5 very peaceful and relaxing days – everyone being careful.
We are told that The Scilly Isles 3 pubs were open over Christmas and New Year – lucky small community who are being very careful.
Maybe some will be able to make the journey later this year – let us hope so….

Sorry to hear that Frank Hallam has passed away
(before Christmas), 90+ and amongst varying jobs,
Frank was a well known Chimney Sweep in and around Whittlesey during the 60’s and 70’s.

I remember talking with him some 10 years ago (when this picture was taken) of his days in the Royal Navy, I believe he served during WWII on the Aircraft Carrier ‘Ark Royal’

Known for his knowledge on horses and dogs….
(racing that would be).

When he worked at the Brickyards – his job was A Smudger…(unsure of the spelling)
