Looks Like Someone Else Has Issues With EA

After being reported to me yesterday afternoon – Oil/Paint floating down the River Nene and Bower, I informed our River Baliff and he was on the scene within minutes.
By the time it had reached Whittlesey and lot of it had broken up and I understand there was little concern at this stage.
See below – what Cllr Chris Harper (Stanground South) has commented.
Post received from a correspondent…

River Polluted….Stanground River Nene – Into Bower

Reported late this morning @ Stanground and to me at 15:00 of ‘a lot of what appears to be Oil and Paint’ that has been dumped into the river.
Authorities have been notified.

Cllr Chris Harper (Peterborough Stanground South)

Urgent River Pollution Warning – Park Farm.

Update, and it’s not good news I’m afraid. The source of the flytip has been found at the bottom of Havelock Drive. Surely someone saw or knows who was responsible for this callous assault on our environment? Who’s just cleared their garage or shed out?

Original Post – Awful news this morning of what appears to be oil and paint tins dumped in the river at the rear of Park Farm between Havelock Drive and Kedleston Road.

No Holidays – So Where Did We Go #8

As has been chronicled previously I was employed by The Disney Group in the US for 5 years, prior to retiring. Working in both the Parks and Cruise Ships, the big bonus was that my wife Connie could join me during her holidays.
A free VIP (not quite the VVIP) Card allowed us some fantastic benifits – All Free.
So many holidays were enjoyed in the US and several in Florida.
These from 2000/01

Space Centre – Canaveral

Airboat – Everglades

Evergaldes NP

Sunset over Key West

Senior Engineers @ Disney™

Cambs NHW Executive Meeting

Last night (Thursday 04th) was our bi-monthly meeting (Zoom).
We were informed (again) of the updates to changes within Cambs Policing (almost an annual event).

The consultation period is over, there have been some leaving/redundancies and some have moved posts. We are told that once (again) everything will be in place (April) and that we should all benifit from a better Neighbourhood Policing.
I hope so.

FYI over the last couple of days several high value cars have bee stolen both in Whittlesey and in Coates. Cat Converters are also being targeted…. You can make life difficult for a thief to steal both your car & Cat Converter..plenty of advice on the Web..

WTC Planning Meeting Last Night 03rd March

The agenda was published on this site last week. Good to see Mr Naswaz (Conservative candidate for WTC/Stonald Ward election in May – Mr Naswaz has attended other WTC meetings and shows interest).
The main contention was in the appeal F/YR20/0232/F – I raised the issue and concern of vehicle access, presently there is a vehicle parked regularly that reverses across the pavement onto Market Street (blindly) (Between Ottoman Take-away and what was Wrights), under the appeal the planning inspectorate expects vehicles to exit in a forward direction, I and all agreed that we doubt if this will be the case and concerns over safety is to be made to FDC and if necessary the Police.
