NHW Executive Group Meeting

I’ve been a member of the Executive for some 10 years, progress can sometime be a bit slow, as the for ever changing and reorganising of the Police in Cambs.

Some good results in catching ‘Drug Dealing’ 2 different operations which the ‘Dealers’ were arrested here in Whittlesey – a number within Fenland.
Issues also highlighted of Street Prostitution within residential areas of Peterborough.**

Speeding was also highlighted and I will be having further discussions with Officers tomorrow.

**In the UK, the exchange of sexual services for money is legal, but a number of activities, including soliciting in a public place, kerb crawling, owning or managing a brothel, pimping and pandering, are considered to be crimes, under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

Ice Cream – Ting-A-Ling- Someone Has Complained

I dare say if an Ice Cream Wagon sits outside your house for too long it would be annoying.
Below is the Governments ‘Advisory’ on Ice Cream ‘Tunes’.

There are a lot that the ‘Vendor’ has to comply with – have a read…

I am more than happy to ‘measure’ the ‘Sound Level’ if the said ‘Ting-A-Ling comes my way.

Will A Change of Mayor Mean A Change in Funding.

Without question the ‘newly’ elected Metro Mayor Dr Nick Johnson, will have different priorties than those of Ex Mayor James Palmer.
We in Whittlesey ‘hope’ that funding for the proposed ‘Heritage Centre’, ‘Hereitage Walk’ and ‘Business Support’ will still go ahead. There is a meeting on the 30th June.

G’ments COVID Round-Up

Coronavirus (COVID-19) roundup 23 June 2021
This morning we have released new analysis suggesting vaccine status has not had a great impact on how we live our lives.

Time use survey data shows our behaviour changed significantly over 12 months of lockdowns, with more time spent on outdoor activities such as socialising in March 2021 compared to the first national lockdown.
By March of this year, around 30 million people in the UK had received their first vaccine dose, including 92% of those aged 50 years and over.

However, any differences in behaviour identified between the vaccinated and non-vaccinated groups at this time appear to have been driven by age or occupation rather than lifestyle changes caused by having had a vaccine dose.
General changes in activity included more homeworking and less sleep compared to a year earlier.
Yesterday we estimated 8 out of every 10 people in England would have tested positive for antibodies to coronavirus in the latest week.

Overall deaths in England and Wales fell slightly, likely affected by under-reporting over the Spring Bank Holiday.
We also reported public sector borrowing in May of this year was at the second highest level on record, topped only by May 2020.

Tomorrow we will be publishing provisional data on births in 2020 and early 2021, alongside indicators of economic and social change.

Am I/We Missing Something With The Environment Agengy & Saxon Pit Issues.

An article in yesterdays PT©

A Whittlesey waste wood processing company has been fined more than £26,000 for failing to manage the risk of fire and containment of dust at its site, and causing dust emissions that impacted on neighbouring businesses and a fishing lake.

I was at one of the ‘meetings’ where this company came and gave a presentation to WTC – They stated that there would be no danger, polution, or environmental impact – how wrong these cowboys turned out to be…

For the Environment Agency to take a ‘Liquidated Company’ to court when NO directors can  be found to turn up, is yet another smack in the face to us Whittlesey Residents.

The derisory fine with little or no chances of recovery is yet again a travesty.

Whittlesey has been and continues to be a ‘Dumping Ground’ for various unscrupulous operators.

Disclaimer : I have deliberately not named any company or individual – as there too many to name !!!!!
