Shoplifters Caught At Last
So far this year our officers have arrested more than 200 people for stealing from shops across the county.
Although we’ve got a specific focus on business crime this week as part of Safer Business Action Week, business-related crime has been a priority for some of our neighbourhood policing teams in recent months.
With support from across the frontline, including our response teams and detectives, we’ve arrested 205 people so far this year for shoplifting!
7 arrests
32 charges
4 weeks in prison
£276.20 compensation ordered
Many of them have been charged with a multitude of offences in addition to shoplifting, including possession of drugs, robbery, assault, possession of weapons, threatening behaviour, breach of court orders, business burglary and more.
In Fenland..
7 arrests 32 charges 4 weeks in prison £276.20 compensation orderedAll part of our work to tackle business crime!

Today we are notified…
Further to my previous email, please accept this email as formal notification to withdraw application ref:
F/YR24/0001/F at 24 – 30 Market Street Whittlesey Cambridgeshire.
RG Note : – You can view the reasons why the Planning Officer recommend the application for refusal by visiting FDC Web – Planning Portal
What is known as The ‘Emporium’ at present, along with the Dry Cleaners and Quinns, the whole site has now a planning application for its development.
Rather ominous that I happened to publish a picture of the Old Cinema ealier this week in relation to the Heritage Talks coming next week.
There are already ‘several comments/objections’ on the FDC Planning Portal, as I am a member of FDC’s planning committee, I will view the applications that is brought before the committee. Only comments/objections that are ‘planning related’ will be considered.
I am keeping the electorate informed of the application.
You can view the application and the associated paperwork by going to FDC’s Planning Portal – F/YR24/0001/F
