I Have Asked Questions – A605
Having received a number of complaints (not from my ward area) from residents concerning the issue – traffic light/management on the A605 – I have asked our two County Councillors questions on behalf of these residents.
1/ Why we as Councillors are not being communicated with when the road only opened on Thursday late afternoon.
2/ What is the problem/issue.
3/ Why isn’t the work being done over the weekend to minimise the disruption come Monday morning.
4/ Why is there no penalty involved with the developer/contactor if delays like this occur.
Just received an e-mail from Cllr Dee Laws….
Due to the heavy rain on Thursday there was a flash flood outside the Lindum Homes site which caused a small sinkhole to be created. They had to carry out emergency repairs today under 2-way traffic management. I am not sure if the repairs are yet complete but the timing is unfortunate the day after the road had reopened.

Noise Equipment To Tackle Anti-Social Motorists
| New noise equipment will help officers tackle anti-social motorists across the county.
Cambridgeshire Constabulary has purchased two state-of-the-art sound monitoring equipment kits which will alert officers at the roadside if an exhaust is too loud. Officers will be holding the first day of action with the new equipment on Saturday targeting hotspot areas based on information reported to the force. The legal limit for cars is 80 decibels and it is illegal to modify an exhaust to be louder than this. Noise pollution is a concern for many people living in our villages, towns and cities. Using funds from the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) we have purchased new state-of-the-art sound monitoring equipment that will tell us in seconds, at the roadside, if an exhaust is too loud. We’ll be targeting hotspot areas as well as car cruises across the county. Fines will be issued to help reduce anti-social motorists and make our communities quieter, safer places to live. If there is an area you would like us to target or to report anti-social motorists in your area, click here. PC Kurt Alle |

NHW Represented At The Top Table
Yesterday I represented our Whittlesey & District Neighbourhood Watch Group at the National Conference via Zoom video streaming – The main context of the meeting was something I/we have been promoting for many years – NHW is not just about ‘Crime’ but supporting our communities in many ways – Not just ‘Good neighbours’ but ‘Better Neighbours’
I did highlight some of the ‘challenges’ we have in our area – No Police Station, the challenges that our rural Police team have (missing children daily and in some cases adults), Drug dealing concerns, ASB and the for-ever Parking and Speeding concerns.
Some area’s of the Country do seem to have a better communication and support system from their local Police-but this can be down to indvidual officers.
If you would like to be part of the team – ‘A better Neighbour’ then contact either myself or
