Dog Dirt on the Increase….

There was a vast improvement in reported ‘Dog Dirt’ last year when The Good Dog Walkers scheme was running.
Recently there are lots of reports that this blight is on the increase again.
Whittlesey Town Council on average are installing around 6 new dog bins a year.
This one is on the Whittlesey Wheel area,
the next planned with be in Coates and Eastrea – there are plenty of bins – Why some owners don’t use them – I don’t know…

A Bit of Whittlesey History for the Weekend….

Whittlesey like many town/cities in the 1800’s to the early 1900’s had a workhouse…this is a small part of the history of ours…if a search of
 http://www.workhouses.org.uk/Whittlesey/
will reveal local names who were ‘residents’ of the establishment….there was ‘workhouses’ both on Broad Street Whittlesey and Eastrea Road Whittlesey.

First Customer Caught – Noisey Exhaust…

In a previous E cops message I informed you of a new device to gauge exhaust noise has been acquired by Cambridgeshire Police.
It has now been effectivity trialled, and a owner of a anti social exhaust system has received a fine relating to this issue.
This pro active campaign will be continuing in the future. Complaints of noisy vehicles are reported regularly, and these reports have resulted in these patrols.
