(RG – When I questioned Mr Medd towards the end of ‘Lock-Down 1’ on how many enforcement fines for some 200 reported breaches of the rules there had been –
Answer 0000000 – Zero)

Firstly please may I assure you the 200 reports of non-compliances were initial reports to the Council that were investigated, they were not confirmed breaches of legislation or guidance. It was really positive these reports were received as it shows the trust customers, staff and businesses have that the council will respond and offer support. I hope I can add some context to those numbers though.

Fenland Neighbourhood Police have issued 5 fines over last weekend for breaches of COVID regulations….

Fantastic Work Done By Yes – Volunteers

Anne informs me that the Whittlesey Community Car Scheme is still very much helping and supporting our area, the ‘Fantastic Volunteers’ are still taking residents for Hospital appointments – they are operating reduced service.

For those who find it difficult to pay the nominal fee there is help available (contact me and I’ll pass on the details)

Kings Dyke Railway Crossing Failure This Morning..

As usual when there are issues at Kings Dyke Railway Crossing and with The B1040 Thorney Road closed – ALL traffic comes along Church Street & Ramsey Road….Busy is an understatement – But it coped, mainly because the parked traffic acts as a calming system.

At one stage 4 Thory lorries and 3 other HGV’s on this small road at the same time….
