Heavy rain that has fallen over the River Nene catchment over the last week, means that the Whittlesey Wash flood storage reservoir is being operated to protect nearby communities from flooding. The rising levels in the Wash have resulted in flooding of the B1040 road. Whilst the Flood Warning is in force, the Local Authority may close the B1040 for safety reasons. Diversionary routes will be put in place, and further updates will be available through local media. This Flood Warning is expected to stay in force for a few days, until water levels recede. Please follow diversionary routes until the Local Authority re-open the road. We will be closely monitoring the situation, and this message will be updated on Thursday, 28th January, or as the situation changes.To clarify…this impending application is for an additional operation by a different
