Another Drug Bust Whittlesey
I get reports of ‘Drug Dealing’ activities most weeks (several times), It it vital that any information is reported to the Police, it is no good having a go on Social Media, the Police need reports to be able to act upon. So easy online…..

Someone Asked !!!!!
Knowing I was a ‘Seafarer’ for 28 years, someone asked whether I had ever been on a ship that ‘ran aground’ – as with the Evergiven – Containership stuck in the Suez Canal.
Answer – Yes – a few times, and all but once the ship managed to free itself with tides and dumping fresh water.
The one time that it was not successful was when the large container ship I was on (large in its day) suffered engine failure in the St Lawrence River on the 20th December 1988 – a day before the Lockerbie Air Disaster. St Lawrence in December – by the Quebec Bridge at -20 degrees C is somewhat frightening to say the least.
Ran up onto the rocks and vessel suffered major damage – no loss of life and eventually towed back to Montreal.
Decided to ‘retire’ from the sea for a while !!!!!

NHW News Update….
Whittlesey Neighbourhood Watch has been working as usual in the background in supporting more than 150 residents who asked for our help and assistance during the past 12 months.
Like all other community based groups, we have not been able to hold any meetings, however we have a very good ‘network’ and our website is very up to date and easy to use.

Unfortunately ‘crime’ has not gone away and statistics are more or less the same as last year.
PROTECT YOUR CAR CAMPAIGN
Due to Covid-19 and repeated lockdowns, people haven’t been using their cars as much as they used to. However, car crime remains a pressing problem in the UK – alarmingly, one car is stolen every ten minutes(1). The latest figures from the Police National Computer (3) indicate car crime decreased during Covid-19 restrictions but with the expectation of social restrictions soon easing we could see a surge in car crime. Neighbourhood Watch are launching a new campaign on the 31st March to encourage everyone to keep their car’s safety top of mind.
John Hayward-Cripps, CEO of Neighbourhood Watch Network, says “Most car crimes happen because cars are left unlocked. There is a misconception that some cars are auto-locking and lock themselves if left unattended after a period of time. This isn’t always correct. Another misconception is that your car is too old and no one will bother stealing it. This is also incorrect – both new and old cars are at risk. Having a car stolen or broken into is more than simply a hassle, it can impact on people’s livelihoods.
The good news is that there are simple steps everyone can take to help reduce the risk to their car. With only a 46% recovery rate (3) we’re reminding everyone to leave your car –
locked, lit and empty.”

On FYR – This Morning
My presentation from mission control to Fenland Youth Radio at 08:30 this morning, informing of the Saxon Pit – Johnsons Aggregate Planning Application.
I stated that Johnsons had not come to Whittlesey Town Council with their proposals, I was unaware, that they had indeed approached WTC to do a presentation, however the Agenda was full. They may come in the near future.
