Headlands & West Delph Update –

Gas works I am told have been completed and safety checks in progress.
Anglian Water .. Understand the reinstatement crew should be following-up tomorrow back filling feed pipe holes and making good residents driveways/pathways etc.
Anglia Water barrier surrounding a large hole remains at West Delph/Yarwell Headlands ‘T’ junction – no indication when a crew will return to make good.

Mayors Annual Duck Race – No Go This Year – But……

Unfortunately this years Whittlesey Mayors Duck Race is not going to take place on Easter Monday.
So for the second year Fenland Youth Radio and Whittlesey Sports Association have come to the rescue and are encouraging families to enter the improvised Duck Race.
All you have to do is, firstly like our Facebook pages if you have not done so already, then add your child’s name and age and the time you think the first duck will be at the finish line in the comments box only on the Fenland Youth Radio Facebook page and any message that can be read out.
We will be mentioning names and times and the messages on the Good Friday Fenland Breakfast Show 8am-10am and also the Saturday Saturday show from 9am-11am. The 3 children who have the closest times to the official timing will win a nice chocolate prize.
The length of the course is approx 22 metres and may be hose pipe assisted. Last year there were 63 entries and the joint winners were Matilda-Rae Rogers and Kian Massingham who were the closest to the winning time of 4 minutes 14 seconds so will they defend their title or will it be new names on the podium. Only one entry per child please. To listen to Fenland Youth Radio go to either
www.fenlandyouthradio.com or “Alexa enable Fenland Youth Radio” or simply download the app to your phone or ios device.

Maybe next year The Easter Ducks will be back….

Lock It Or Loose It Campaign.

Most weeks a vehicle or two are stolen in our area. Some very new/expensive ones as well.

Car crime is a real problem in the UK. Alarmingly, one car is stolen every ten minutes.

(1) With Covid-19 and the recent lockdowns, many people aren’t driving or checking on their cars as much as they used to. At Neighbourhood Watch, we need your help to remind car owners to remain vigilant about where and how they park their cars, in order to keep them safe.

Thanks To Paul B…..

Some maybe unaware, there is a small wood, called ‘Rotary Wood’ just passed the Ramsey Road – Level Crossing, it has been there for some 20 years and is now a well established small wooded area. Unfortuantely a lot of litter/paper and other rubbish thrown out of cars, end up tangled in this area. Paul B was passing by on Monday and collected around 12 bags of assorted rubbish….FDC Street Cleaner will collect… Thanks Paul….
