Community Tentions Info….

Subject: Community Tensions

With Governments Covid restriction measures being removed and replaced with general guidance for staying safe from today, there is the possibility of some community tensions issues arising from this, as although some people will be pleased to see these measures lifted some others may not be comfortable with this and then disagree when out and about!

Clinically Extremely Vulnerable Guidance

In addition to the general guidance for staying safe from Monday 19th July onwards, which is currently available on the GOV.UK website, the Government have now produced separate guidance for those who are considered clinically extremely vulnerable to COVID-19. The guidance, available on the GOV.UK website, advises clinically extremely vulnerable people to follow the general guidance as a minimum but to also consider additional precautions with suggestions on socialising, vaccination, work and travel.

If you become aware of any local tensions, on this or any other matter, then can you please make the Police aware.

Kind Regards
David

Manor Field Today

There have been a number of camplaints about the state of ‘Grass-Cutting’ @ The Manor Field, for some considerable time, I and other Councillors have been in contact with FDC and the Parks and Open Spaces Manager.
I have been around the area very regularly, and different teams do a better job than others, the weather (sorry) makes grass grow at differing rates.
We have a contract with Tivoli to look after Parks and Open Spaces.
If you think the contactors are not doing a good job, then I would suggest that the more people who contact FDC about it the more chance of the contactors being held to account.
I’ve been there several times this week. and it has been cut twice this week.

A Nice Sedate Few Hours…

After my almost daily challenges with computers/microsoft/bugs and other software, timeout to watch an avid Whittlesey Bowls player qualify for the national championships to be held in Skegness in August.

Took place at the very well maintained Gorefield Bowls Club.

Whittlesey Good Life Service – Meet Up

Essentially the idea is to get people to connect based on shared experiences and to help people’s mental health and so, with effect from 9th August, there will be two ways of meeting up.
The first is the Good Mood Cafe which will meet every Monday at The George from 10.30 to 12 and is a drop in session.  The second is called Open Door Calm Space which will meet every Tuesday at St. Andrews Parish Hall from 2 to 3.30.  This will be a safe space for people to learn self-help techniques including mindfulness and meditation.   For this people will need to sign up by emailing ruralgoodlife@cpslmind.org.uk.

Please spread the word – there are more iniitiatves coming over the next few months to help the community of Whittlesey.
