WTC Planning Meeting Last Night….

We are as I have made everyone aware, ‘Consultee’s only’ in planning matters.
At last nights Planning meeting, the somewhat controversial application to build 203 houses on Eastrea Road.

This is the site where there was going to be :-
A/ A Sainsbury’s Supermarket.
B/ A Promised Country Park.
C/ A Small Business Park.

(l) Bruce Smith Jan 26th 2016     (r) Bruce Smith 19th July 2021

I was there…..at both meetings

Mr Bruce Smith gave a short presentation on the Aldi application – this is the same Bruce Smith who as the Land Agent who promised the A, B, & C above.
Remember Sainsbury’s pulled out and the whole development went pear shaped for Mr Smith.
Instead we will probably be getting 203 Houses and a ‘Small Supermarket’
No Country Park and No Business Park.

Several Councillors including myself brought up issues and concerns regarding the housing part of the application.
Ward Councillor Dave Davies highlighted concerns about Drainage, and Water issues.
There was also an objection from the Minerals & Waste @ Cambs CC.

More and more building without the associated infra-stucture to follow through.
We’ve been talking about this for years – No one is listening unfortunately.

Our A605 which I understand is ‘Stressed’ – and is almost at capacity.
Schools, Medical etc are dealt with much higher up at County level.
I am lead to believe that there were 3 doctors at New Queen Street yesterday for some 12,000 registered patients.
