FDC Cabinet Meeting – Agenda – Monday 13th June

As part of the agenda – The Fenland (draft) Local Plan is set out,  this is an extremely important document as it will have a great influence on all of us until 2040.
The document itself is very lengthy reading – but is important if you wish to make any comments you feel necessary.
Parking Enforcement is also covered at the meeting.

Below is the agenda, as usual you can follow the meeting or watch later on YouTube©

The public document is 295 pages long and the file is too large to put on this web-blog,
It is easily downloadable. The Draft (FDC).

Latest COVID 19 Rates

It has been some months since I suspended my regular updates on local COVID 19 cases.
However, since it would appear that national rates are on the increase, locally the rates are remaining low – Note NOT Zero – Low.

CAPASP News – Scams

Hello Roy, quick update for you and it is on social media which I do not do, had an out of the blue call from someone saying that they represent Medic Alert things and as I was thinking of getting one with my falls and living alone went through the blurb then thought better of it so rang the Building Society as soon as I came off the phone said I was worried in case this was fraudulent and they immediately cancelled my card and sent me a new one 2 days later
(A real e-mail received today – most days I receive similar mail – watch out – there is free training which I have advertised.)

KD X Update 10th June 2022

The remainder of the surfacing works that link the western roundabout and the eastern roundabout have now started (pictured left).
The vehicle restraint system is also being installed either side of the road along this section.

The surfacing works have also been completed around the eastern roundabout (pictured right), ready for the tie-in works to start at the eastern end in just over two weeks’ time.

Prior to that, works were concentrated towards the middle section of the scheme, around the underpass and railway bridge, which isn’t particularly visible to the public eye.

EV Charging @ WTC Peel House Update

There has been some unwarrented comment(s) about the |Electric Vehicle Charging Points|at Whittlesey Town Council.
This history has been well documented here previously on several occasions and I am not repeating this yet again.
It would appear that the EV points fitted were for domestic usage and not for commercial or continuous use and that is probably why they have burnt out/become unreliable.
The Council has received a quote to replace both EV Chargers with a modern more rebust system and we await a second quote.
It will then go to the Fiinance & Policy Committee of WTC for debate/discussion/and a proposed decision for the Full Council to decide, this will be done in July.

RIP Chris Dunham – A Woderful, Kind, Lady

A neighbour and friend of many around the corner from us in Briggate Crecent, passed away recently, Connie & I attended her funeral in March today.
A nearly full church with an extended program (Chris was a devoted Christian).
A NHS Nurse throughout her life, gave so much to so many, she will be missed.
RIP Chris.
