Sorry Toilets Still Closed Due To Vandalism

I have highlighted the issue many times, on the last occasion Fenland District Council (who are responsible for the public toilets) spent a considerable amount in repairing the three  public toilets – two were vandalised within a day of being opened up.
Someone has had a go at the Disabled Toilet – that is still at present open and operational.

There is no legal obligation for a public authority to supply public toilets.

Wisbech Town Council has recently took over the running of the toilets at the Horsefair Shopping Centre – the cost to the rate payer is in the region of £36,000 for being open for limited hours.

Out & About Today….

On my regular trips around St Mary Ward South and the Town Centre, a full bag of litter – rubbish collected which is normal for a Saturday. Residents issues with ongoing Tree problems, Parking issues – always and the never ending Neighbour disputes (difficult).
What appears to be an abandoned boat on The Bower, has been visited by various agencies, none seem responsible for this part of the river…. All boats should have a licence for their boat – this one does not display – Councillors are keeping an eye on the situation.
Maybe the Mid-Level Commissioners are the ones who can get it moved?

Whilst clearing up around the Grosvenor Road Car Parks, I notice ALL Recycling Facilities were full to the brim – I tried to phone the numbers on the bins – no chance Saturday and Bank Holiday Weekend – I’ll try again Tuesday…..

A Right To A Private Life Too….

I do not normally get involved on this forum about national issues – we all know what they are, however like her or loathe her Janet Street Porter did an excellent article this week about the Finnish Leader in comparison to our own….

I was very amused when JSP said of Borris….

He’s a bloke who relies on rich pals to host his belated wedding reception, pay for his home furnishings and lend him luxurious houses for holidays.

Someone so disorganised that his clapped-out car is sitting on a London Street where passers-by can enjoying reading the labels on boxes of personal belongings.

Our outgoing Prime Minister is someone whose grasp of the truth is economical at best. Who misled to parliament and fudged the truth about what socialising went on in his office when the rest of us were told to stay at home in lockdown.

(RG) – Borris is no more and many are having second thoughts on whether the right decision was made to get rid of him…..?

More Good Feedback….

A lady contacted me yesterday asking about the Community Care Scheme, run here in Whittlesey, her husband needs to have a COVID test done at Addenbrookes Hospital and has to have a Covid swab completed 3 days before the operation (the hospital stipulate the test must be done at their testing site, cannot be done in Peterborough).

She was concerned on reliability and costings, I advised her to contact the CCS and speak with them, later in the day….

Just to say I have spoken with Ann today and have gone ahead and made a booking.    She was very helpful and called me back once she had confirmation of availability for the date.

The cost of the service is £35.00, compared to £120 for a taxi.
I would not have been aware of this service had it not been for your web blog – thank you.

This Is How ‘Some’ People Treat Our Town…

Enjoyed their Fish & Chips and left the rubbish to blow away and for rats and other vermin to gobble up – thanks a lot.

One Tree Issue Sorted 3 More To Go

Residents in Briggate Crescent (Off Ramsey Road) have been blighted by a number of trees which have grown and become a problem both with overhang and roots.
Monday  one of the Trees was taken down much to the delight of some residents.

I like Trees and am leading the Queens Platinum Canopy – on behalf of the Community and WTC – but Trees can be a problem to many.
