Award for team who investigate paedophiles online

Did you know we have a team of officers whose job it is to respond to paedophiles using the internet to exploit children?

Well, we do – our Paedophile Online Investigation Team (POLIT) identify and investigate paedophiles who use the internet to exploit and abuse children, taking on some of the most varied and challenging work in policing.

The team investigates offences ranging from making and distributing indecent images of children, to sexual communications with a child.

Earlier this week, Chief Constable Nick Dean surprised the team by presenting them with his ‘Employee of the Month’ award.

In recent months, the team has had an exceptionally busy period by carrying out 30 warrants and supporting an operation to target individuals seeking to pay for sexual services from children.

To help us protect children online, you can find out more here where you can also report concerns.

Information about indecent images of children and how to report concerns can be found here.

Kind regards,

More Sucess For Our Neighbourhood Police Team

Yesterday afternoon, we carried out warrants at two addresses in Whittlesey.
We attended properties in Coronation Avenue and Station Road in response to concerns from the local community about drug dealing.
In Station Road, we discovered this cannabis grow inside a garage, containing a mixture of full size and baby cannabis plants.
Drug paraphernalia, bags of cannabis, cash and knives were also seized from both properties.
Two men were arrested and taken to Thorpe Wood custody, but have since been released under investigation.

Oh Dear – Wanton Idiot(s)

With the Queens Platinum Jubilee Tree Canopy campaign well advance at WTC.
The planting of 70+ Tree’s to take place in the Autumn, I find that the disgnated site has suffered vandalism again.
Why is it – that the ‘few’ have to spoil things for the rest of us.
What did the ‘Idiot’ get out of destroying some established Tree’s

Last Nights WTC Planning Meeting

A short presentation by Mr Peter Goring from The Mace Group to  members of the Planning Committee and 6 members of the public.
Mace is a multi-national established company who are expanding their business and plan to bring nearly a 100 jobs to the Ex  – ‘Victory Pit’ on Peterborough Road.

Mr Goring highlighted that Mace was compliant with ‘Carbon Neutral’.
Mr Stephen Hodson spoke during the public forum, he highlights several concerns including noise and environmetal concerns of the A605.
Mr Goring in his presentation stated that there would be some 182 vehicles a day in/out and 56 HGV’s in/out and that their HGV’s all run on Bio-Diesel.
Cllr Roy Gerstner, welcomed Good Neighbourbours and Businesses to Whittlesey and said this was not always the case with other historic operators within the area.
Concerns of access in/out of the plant from the A605.

Mr Goring stated ALL HGV’s would be coming and leaving the site from the Peterborough/West and NO HGV’s would be coming through Whittlesey.

WTC’s Planning Committee (acting as consultee’s only) voted to approve the Mace application. 3 Councillors (including myself) abstained from voting.
