Update – Peters B Protest Is Going Ahead Will It Change Anything

My apologies the Action Day is tomorrow – Wednesday.

Long standing ex businessman and resident Peter Baxter is fed up with issues concerning the traffic and HGV’s along the A605 transiting Whittlesey.
I have promoted and supported Peter on his campaign for many years and he has decided that enough is enough – His belief that Councillors and Authorities are doing little or nothing to address the concerns of not only himself but a great number of residents.

Peter is well aware from my many hours of conversations with him of how the ‘system’ works and as local Town Councillors (myself included) our ability is the same as his –
Lobbying upwards to our Senior County Councillors and MP.

So tomorrow (Tuesday) Peter is I understand planning with some other residents from the juction of Halcroft Road to Snoots Road to have them park their cars (legally) at strategic points along the road. What effect this may have I don’t know.

He again I understand will be getting much wider publicity on this campaign.
I will have a look myself tomorrow morning…

Our ‘Louts’ Are Still At It

Sorry I must not call them ‘Louts’ or any other derogratory name that the ‘wokes’ would not let me use….Fed up finding every day some more issues and problems with vandalism,
rubbish and litter.
Our very observant NHW Volunteer has been assisting in clearing up – St Mary’s Church Yard. This area is not new to us, but seems to have got worse since the Garden of Rest has been locked at night-time – Same problem just moves on…It is a real shame that these ‘Louts’ can not be more respectful.

Last nights contributions – It has been reported?

KD X Update

A message from the King’s Dyke project team:

The piling works in Star Pit have been completed (pictured left), along with the trimming of the lower embankment to its final profile.

Works will now be concentrated on constructing the upper embankment on top of the piles in Star Pit.

There will be some traffic management required to complete the works at Funtham’s Lane. This is planned to start around 28 September with two-way lights in operation that will not impact the flow of A605 traffic.

Whilst this traffic management is in place, the access towards Funtham’s Lane from the western roundabout will be closed, and traffic will be diverted to use the eastern roundabout and then the old A605 as access. Signs will be in place to divert traffic.

The access towards the brickworks has now been completed (pictured right) with the road now open to Forterra traffic only.

Thank You – FDC – NHW

Yesterday I posted on this web-blog on behalf of our NHW Member, who reported it to FDC, what can I say but thank you – today (09:00) – Sunday here is our Street Cleaner having a go at removing the horrid black grease, which unknown ‘Yob(s)’ smeared over it.

You can report so many things on the FDC Website https://www.fenland.gov.uk/report

3 Minute Quiz – Can You Get 100% Correct.

Test your knowledge on how to contact us
We understand that every incident is individual, and it may not always clear whether you should call us, use our online services, or contact other authorities such as your local council.

And that’s why as part of our Call When It Counts campaign, we have created a short online quiz in which you can test your knowledge on the best way to contact us in various scenarios.

See if you would know how to contact us about noisy neighbours, falling victim to fraud and witnessing graffiti in your local park. Try the quiz here.

Yes I’ve done it (only once) and did get 100% – Test yourself….

Whittlesey Idiot(s)

It was ‘only’ a matter of time before ‘our’ newly installed Heritage Walk Benches were to be vandalised…..a fantastic project lead by Cllr Dee Laws and Whittlesey Town Council, almost complete now with signage (more to follow).

This morning one of our NHW members spotted the ‘Bench’ in St Mary’s Church Yard – well covered in ‘Grease’ – who caries a tin of grease around with them.

As I’ve said before – I am not allowed though the PC (political correctness) of this world even to ‘think’ who may have done the stupid act.
It has been reported and hopefully will be addressed.
