Lakeside Healthcare New Queen Street & Stanground Surgeries

From 1st October 2022, all Primary Care Networks (PCNs), which are groups of GP practices working together in close geography to deliver NHS services in England, will be required to offer a range of general practice services outside core hours within the period of 6.30pm – 8pm on weekday evenings and 9am – 5pm on Saturdays
(known as the Enhanced Access service).

The range of services are likely to include ‘routine’ services such as screening, vaccinations and health checks and take into account patient needs.

The new arrangements aim to remove variability across the country and improve patient understanding of the service.

We would very much value your feedback to help us shape the approach we take to the Enhanced Access service.

Alongside practice data, your feedback will be used to help shape your local practice and PCN plans on delivering these extra appointments.

If you would like to submit your views, you can do so at https://bit.ly/3BwTr1j

Music On The Square – Should They Be Moved?

There is on the agenda for next weeks Projects Committee meeting (WTC) a debate on whether the Music On The Square events should be moved/rotated.

After many sucessful years on the Market Square, an idea to rotate say to an event at

(1) Coates (2) Feldale Football Field (3) The Manor Field along with the BIG BASH 2023

I have created a ‘poll’ on the right side toolbar – please do NOT vote more than once,
Your Vote is Private & Anonymous – it will skew any meaningfull results.
I will leave it running for a couple of weeks.

Update :- NQS – CQC Rating – Requires Improvement ?

This report is really important for ALL who use New Queen Street Surgery.
I could have a good go at the management – but it would be inappropriate on this forum.
I could say – Not fit for purpose – but I am not ?
I could say profit before care – but I am not ?
It is time that NQS to up their purpose – and I am very sorry for the staff that work at NQS it is not their fault.
If you need help – ask?

Read for yourselves – I and several others within the Community and Council have tried to engage with NQS over many years – at times (before being taken over by Lakeside) we had a very good engagement with the partners at the surgery – post Lakeside – downhill to say the least – I could say I have spent hundreds of hours of my time dealing with NQS complaints – No good whinging on social media – complain through the right channels or fill in the patients survey which I promoted on this web-blog over several weeks.

When Will The Vandalism End #2

In the past few months – the ‘Garden of Rest’ on Station Road, which is very well maintained by FDC and Volunteers from ‘In Bloom’ has be subjected to many instances of mindless vandalism…I stopped by the gardens last week at 20:30 and there were some 15 youths playing football and running over the flower beds!. I asked them ‘politely to stop and explained the significance of the area (religious & ex graveyard) – sorry it would appear said youths did not understand and carried on playing football.

As I have reported there appeared grafitti, antisemitic and sexual graphics  on the pathways.
Further damage has been done to the flower beds.
This week ‘someone’ was preparing to steal the memorial bench, it was spotted and action has been taken to make it more secure.
‘Someone had a go within a day at the newly installed ‘Platinum Jubilee Bench’

The Garden of Rest will be locked – it will open for limited hours but certainly closed in the evenings until early mornings. Today it was locked all day.
(The decision made by FDC who own the site)

The main concern is that those responsible (dare I mention who they maybe? – and get forever ‘trolled’ on social media) will move to another area….Someone knows who is responsible – be a concerned resident report them to either the Police or Crime-Stoppers.

When Will The Vandalism End #1

For some 12 months the Public Toilets behing the ‘George’ wre closed because of persistent vandalism…nothing new.

The very first day the toilets were re-opened – a complete light fitting was ripped from the ceiling. Within 3 days 2 of the doors were damaged with something substantial.
Now again they will remain closed (I have no idea for how long) –
Have an issue please contact Fenland District Council – they are the authority responsible for looking after the Public Toilets.

Note:- There is no legal requirement for Councils to have Public Toilets.

Excellent NHW Meeting….

Visit Whittlesey NHW Website:- https://www.whittleseynhw.org.uk/

11 Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinators met last night @ Peel House, we were joined by Fenland Neighbourhood Police – PC Gary Stabler, who gave the group an insight and updates on what he and some of the team are addressing within our area.
They are very much ‘aware’ of the almost daily issues of vandalism in our town.

Secretary Robin Sutton gave the insights to National NHW Community Saftey Charter.

The group discused the crime statistics (published monthly on this web-blog).
Chairman Roy Gerstner emphasized the importance of reporting all incidents, without
any reports there are no records…..

Chief Superintendent of Cambridgeshire – Nick Dean, is very supportive of NHW.
