Experiencing Noise, Dust or Odours with Snoots and Nearby Area’s
It may or may not be attributable to the industries working out of Saxon Pit….
If you are experiencing any noise, dust or odours it is vitally important that you phone the Environmental Agency (EA).
Jenkinsons, the company working in the pit handling the wood, is applying retrospectively for planning permission.
All calls that are logged with the EA will be taken into account and included in any permissions that they may be granted.
The phone number is 0800 80 70 60

Todays Community Engagement Event

Fenland District Council along with Cambs County Council Officers attended our Market Square today.
The idea is to welcome the community to come together to talk to us about their feelings, if they need any help and support, one exercise is to ask them to write on a post it note who they would turn to for support and see if there are any gaps we can help signpost with.
The event is open to those of all ages, with different experiences, many people I have spoken to have found just leaving the house a traumatic experience.
I attended for 2+ hours and came across Ms A…. who I was aware had lost her partner recently – she came to see and hear what the team could offer, there was a number of others who had also recently suffered emotional and mental stress recently.
The event was seen as very successful and it is hoped another one will be held later in the year.

At Last Nights Community Projects Meeting – Music Events
Chaired by Cllr Mockett, attended by 3 Councillors on the CP committee and 1 member attending as public Cllr Dorling.
During the public forum, Cllr Dorling asked several questions on how the future of the music events could moved forward.
A robust debate between myself and Cllr Mockett aired several options along with the statistics (published here earlier today) from the recent poll.
I and possibly other Councillors are very sympathetic in supporting an event in Coates.
However there are lots of planning and challenges to see through before that may happen.
I have suggested that we keep the 3 (successful) events on the Market Place and add one extra event for Coates. The budget for 2023 will not be on the agenda until January 2023.
There will be local elections next May, a number of Councillors have already stated that they will be retiring.
There will (hopefully) be some ‘New/Dynamic/Forward Thinking Councillors that can address this with a fresh look and view – we will have to wait and see.
ps…. Did I read correctly that some Facebook Warrior offered to Litterpick should an event take place – maybe they should join me and several others that clean up at the Music Events – and get some practice in before then ?
That would be nice….?
The next Music – On The – Square (Whittlesey) will be taking place on….
Sunday 14th August….

MVAS Data Latest Update
Mobile Vehicle Activated Signs (MVAS) are electronic signs which only become visible when approaching motor vehicles are exceeding a certain speed. The signs normally display the speed limit, however they can also display the actual speed on the sign and these are called Speed Indicating Devices (SID).
MVAS are formed of many bright lights which only turn on when the target motor vehicle is in plain view of the sign.
Note – permission must be obtained from Cambs CC to place them at the locations.
Hot spots remain the same more or less – the data is forwarded to Cambs Police.
101 mph through Kings Delph (was it an emergency vehicle?)
92 mph Bellmans Road – ?
Date Range I – 18th March 05th May
Date Range II – 09th May – 30th June
