URGENT* Whittlesey Water Tower

Fenland District Council has been informed by the company responsible for the maintenance of the Water Tower at Tower Close recreation Ground, that urgent maintenance has been scheduled for next week – 6th March to 10th March.

To enable the work to be completed safely, the open space will be closed to pedestrians. The contractor completing the work will ensure signage is displayed at each entrance to inform residents and pedestrians.

Apologies for the late notice, we have only recently been informed the open space will be closed during this period.

Regards
Gemma Newell
Open Spaces Officer

Decisions and Voting at this meeting may be ratified and confirmed at the following months meeting.

Community Projects meeting,
(Agenda published on this Blog before) –
Cllr Dorling (attending as member of public) emphasised the imporatnce of the Kings wish that the holiday Monday should be promoting and encouraging ‘Volunteering’.

It was noted that there are now 42 on the waiting list for an allotment. Allotment inspections are due in the near future.
Update on the Kings Coronation program is progressing and further details when everything is finalised.

Cllr Gerstner updated the committee on the QEII Jubilee Wood – Wild Flower planting and challenges with the ‘interpretation board’.

Planning Committee – (Please remember that Whittlesey Town Council are ‘consultee’ only) on planning matters, the ultimate decision is made by Fenland District Council Planners/or Committee….
Two somewhat controversial applications with many objections (and a few in favour) (1) Land on Stonald Road (F/YR23/o1o1/F) – Cllr Nawaz spoke in favour of the residents concerns, however the Committee found NO Planning reason(s) to refuse the application – they noted that FDC should take into account the residents objections & concerns.
(2) (F/YR23/0134F) New Lincs Co-Op Coates – The committee are asking for an extention as concerns about ‘Highways’.
