Your Guide to Contacting the Constabulary

When you need to contact the police, it can often be a distressing time, and with a range of different contact methods available to you, it might not be clear which one you should choose.
This is why we want to educate our community about contacting us. It is important that our residents understand when to call us, when it’s better to go online, and when you should contact a different authority altogether.
We have put together a Contact us’ guide, which can be accessed any time via the Constabulary’s website. The guide breaks down each method of contact so you can learn about how and when to use our phone lines and online services. Click into each section for further information and advice.
We believe that gaining a better understanding of our contact methods (and when to use each one) will ensure that should you require the police, you will know where to turn to receive the appropriate help. Not only that, but we also help that it will alleviate unnecessary pressure on our call handlers, who often receive misplaced / inappropriate calls.

More on Cycle-Route 63

Since my post a few hours ago, I’ve been contacted by many people about the same issue/concerns of the state of Cycle-Route 63 (mainly Eastrea to Coates).

I have passed onto ALL of Whittlesey Town Councillors.

The area concerned comes under Coates and Eastrea, there are 3 Councillors representing this ward, they are…

Cllr Bob Wicks     bwicks@fenland.gov.uk

Cllr Ray Whitwell raywhitwell@whittleseytowncouncil.gov.uk

Cllr Alex Miscandlon alexmiscandlon@whittleseytowncouncil.gov.uk

I would respectively ask that you contact them, as it comes under their area.

Same part of Cycle Route 63 taken at different times…..(JD)

The Very Poor State of Cycle Route 63 –

Some parts of the National Cycle Route 63 Whittlesey to Coates are in what could be described as Not fit for purpose in Council/Government speak, especially from Eastrea (Dip) through to Coates (Lake) – It has been in this state for some considerable time.
I have heard rumblings recently from a couple of Councillors about it.
I once tried ‘navigating’ my way along it on my very robust mobilty scooter – it was very challenging to say the least and I certainly wouldn’t attempt it in its current condition.
On the case….

RB informs me…this is the state of Route 63 Cycle Track (Lake Drove) after  cars and vans used it as an alternative route when the A605 was closed last Wednesday.
I believe seven cars including a van were stuck and had to be pulled out.
The last car was pulled out as it was getting dark as witnessed by myself.
The road closure was because of a blocked sewer, opposite the Gables Care Home.
Agreed, it has been heavily used as a farm track over the years as well as a cycle way

First Week of New Year and Some Unfortuate(s) Have Been Hit

Dear Roy,

It’s only 5th January and we’ve already received eight reports of fraud since the start of the year…

·  One incident involving a victim who paid hundreds of pounds for a dog from a lady on Facebook, but the dog never arrived

·  Two banking protocol incidents where staff from local branches have contacted us with concerns for their customers who have tried to send large sums of money to people they’ve met online

·  An incident involving a lost driving licence used fraudulently. The genuine owner received penalty points for a parking offence he never committed using a vehicle he never owned

·  And finally, reports of a rogue trading incident in Peterborough!

Fraud is a vast and ever-evolving area of crime, and one which our officers are fighting every day.

For more advice on the different types of fraud and how to protect yourself and your loved ones, visit the dedicated pages on our website.

Kind regards,
