Last Nights WTC Committee Meetings……

Disclaimer: These observations are not the ‘official’ minutes of the meeting, they are supplied by Whittlesey Town Council, normally (1) month following this meeting and can be viewed on their website. Decisions and Voting at this meeting may be ratified and confirmed at the following months meeting

I attended as a member of the Community Projects Committee, the agenda was published previously on this web-blog.

Public Forum : Cllr Eamonn Dorling suggested no more money should be spent of the ‘Hanging Baskets’ and that the money could be better spent elsewhere.

Mr. Robert Windle informed the BIG BASH 2024 would be held on 23rd June and that the week building up to the 23rd would host various events.

Mr Alan Hobbs presented an update on the damage and vandalism being carried out to the Picnic Benches on The Manor Field –  he explained that ‘Vandals’ had caused considerable damaged which was now both difficult to repair and that costs (approx £500:00) to make secure could be involved, he would need help and support.

The Committee decided that funding of repairs would be futile and that the vandalism would still carry on – so the repair/replacement work will NOT take place.
Mr. Hobbs will make the Picnic Benches secure for safety purposes.
As and when the Picnic Benches become unuseable – they will be taken out and NOT replaced in the short/medium term until a forward plan is made.

Allotments : Some in a very poor state and letters being delivered to those plot holders.
Heritage Centre : Cllr Black working on it.
Market Square Planters : Cllr Mayor in discussions with FDC – However whatever is planted would require WTC/Volunteers to water and maintain?

Planning Committee :-
Public Forum : Mrs Day presented SaxonGate Residents concerns with the latest developments with regards to Noise & Dust mitigation.

Presentation by Allisons Homes for up to 175 houses off Drybread Road.

I am not making any comments about planning at WTC as it would be wrong for me to do so, as I now sit of Fenland District Council Planning Committee.
There will be minutes of the meeting, after being raified by full council – next meeting in September.
