Whittlesey Cricket Club is a small club based in Fenland that offers affordable fun cricket and membership to people regardless of age and ability. We are an ambitious club currently going through a re-building phase and improving our facilities

We currently play our cricket in Division 2 of the Rutland league, we are always on the lookout for new members to either play or help out at the club.

They have applied for planning permission for an enclosed fence and container under
F/YR23/0114 @ FDC Planning Portal.

WTC Planning Committee – Jenkinsons Retrospective Planning

F/YR23/0069/F ‐ Change of use of site for the purposes of wood processing (B2
use) for a temporary period of 2 years (retrospective) at Land South Of New Saxon Works
Peterborough Road Whittlesey Cambridgeshire.

This is a retrospective planning application which has been operating for 12
months. There have been numerous complaints regarding this site made to Whittlesey Town Council, The Environmental Agency, Fenland District Council Environment Officers and Cambridgeshire County Council Officers all of whom have concerns regarding the odour, dust and noise that is emanating from this site and how the company have failed to follow the DEFRA operational best practices note.

Members of the Town Council have witnessed HGV’s passing through the town causing further air pollution, there are also scientific reports which indicate virgin wood dust is potentially carcinogenic amongst numerous other health risks and this cannot be allowed, therefore the council recommend refusal of this application.

Football – Field of Dreams – Rumours Quashed….Social Media !!!

Rumours some weeks ago about ‘The Field of Dreams’ – Football piches at the end of Stonald Road were to be sold/built on.
Below received from Cllr Dee Laws….

At November 2022 Whittlesey Town Council meeting during the public forum a question was raised concerning Forterra disposing of lands and mentioned no idea of the years remaining for the football club to use the Field of Dreams. For information
Forterra has confirmed the football club lease continues through to 2029.
