Excellent Whittlesey Business Community Meeting

I have been a member sinced the present groups formation, I am NOT a Business or Business People, I joined then and have supported the group throughout, by attending their meetings and ‘listening’ to their sucesses and challenges.

Last night some 20 or so members attended, most are ‘sole traders’, some with shops and some work from home. 4 guests.
I ‘learn‘ a lot from attending these meetings, occasionally (very) other WTC Councillors attend.
Cllr Dorling is a committee member (Treasurer).

Traffic Lights Gone From Church St/Ramsey Road

4½ days to dig a ‘hole’ – dig a ‘trench’ an install an electric cable, refill afterwards.
Most of the time there were no workmen present.

Just Some…..Of The Complaints A Councillor Has To Deal With…

Forget about the weekly list of ‘Potholes’ that are reported to Cambs Highways…..
Forget about a homeless person living rough on the streets asking for help…..
Forget about a victim of burglary asking for assistance.

Forget about the issues and concerns around the Saxon Pit/Industrial area
All dealt with last week.

Along with the above here are two more….

One resident complaining about the ‘colour’ of the recently painted porch of
The Whittlesey Vets (l) and another complaining about ‘Weeds growing from where City Fibre had ‘spiked’ the ground investigating services and then not filling back in afterwards
(r)

There are Two Whittlesey Town Council vacancies, and I urge you – if you feel that you’re
up for ‘Helping’ the public with issues and concerns, and the above is a small example,
then please why not stand for election?

Some Good News Indeed

Myself and Julie Windle attended Cambs CC Youth Club meeting held at Scaldgate Whittlesey on the 07th July 2015, invited were some 100 parents along with their children.
No parents attended and it was a sad day that Youth Services in Whittlesey (and Fenland) were curtailed and as good as come to an end.

Fast forward to today, wereby the Phoenix Youth Provision Group, born from The Whittlesey On Focus Group (I was a founder member) tonight celebrated being presented with a cheque from The National Lottery Fund of £86,000+ for future use here in Whittlesey, they have also received another grant from The Police & Crime Commissioner.

I am privileged to have been invited to this evenings presentation and enjoyed some fun
with those present.
