Has Spring Arrived

My annual report on our two Tortoises, “Suntan & Timmy”, survived yet another winter of hibernation. Our two love their extended sleep in seperate boxes.

They woke up two weeks ago and are kept in a cardboard run with a timed infra-red lamp to help them get going.
As the weather improves they can go outside like today for a few hours.
Their treat is ‘Dandillion leaves and flowers’ which they just love…..

Suntan the larger (F) Age around 80+           Timmy the smaller (M) Age around 70+
Weight 3,650 Grams (3.6 Kgs)                         Weight 680 Grams

NHW AGM

14 Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinators met at Peel House last night.

Roy Gerstner was re-elected as Chair of the Group, for the 13th consecutive year.
Robin Sutton was re-elected as Secretary and Webmaster for the 13th consecutive year.
Karen Upcharch was re-elected as Treasurer for the 3rd consecutive year.

Our group are very proud to have supported our community Whittlesey/Eastrea/Coates/Pondersbridge/Turves and Kings Delph, during the Covid expedemic
(almost dim memory now). We carrying on keeping a lookout for our neighbours and especially those who are isolated and vulnerable
.

We like most voluntary organisations in Whittlesey find it challenging to recruit new members – everyone is busy!!!!.

Our engagement with our Neighbourhood Police is very good and Robin Sutton (Secretary) is also Chairman of the Cambridgeshire NHW Executive.
Chairman Roy Gerstner is also on the Executive Committee.

As always promoted we have probably one of the best Websites in Cambridgeshire, full of information and help check it out .

The next meeting will be held at Peel House (WTC Offices) on Thursday 04th July.

Looking after people is a satisfying experience, our thanks to Colin Martin a member of the public who witness this incident.
