Car Seized For No Insurance During Rural Patrols
It was a busy week for our officers who have been patrolling the rural areas of the county!
While in Doddington, we seized a car which showed as uninsured on our systems.
Over the week, you may have seen us in areas such as:

Neighbourhood Police Update
Following recent incidents involving a large group of youths in Wisbech town centre, the local neighbourhood team have been working hard to tackle the issues.
The problems include:

Bad Bad Anti-Social Behaviour In Wisbech
From accounts at both FDC full council meeting earlier this week, Cllr Steve Tierney highlighted several ongoing issues about anti-social behaviour – especially targeting businesses.
Town councillors are calling for the police to step up to tackle crime in Wisbech which they say is causing businesses to lose trade due to youngsters’ behaviour.
At the meeting of Wisbech Town Council on Monday, councillors addressed the issues businesses and residents are having and are urging police to act swiftly.
Cllr Steve Tierney said there is a problem in the town with a new bike gang – “like we have seen in the past” –which is problematic and has been running a campaign of intimidation and vandalism in the marketplace and surrounding areas
A few businesses are being particularly targeted with some attacks seeming to be racially motivated and others not, he explained.
“One particular shop at the weekend had its entire front barricaded off. They dragged metal barricades from the other end of the market where they were tied up, untied them, and dragged them down so people could not get in and out, making it a very difficult job to remove them as they are heavy.
“They have set fire to another shop, smashed the shop up while customers have been in there. They have walked in and intimidated and abused staff and customers.
“The same group went to The Rose and Crown Hotel, threw bricks and eggs at the hotel, ran into the hotel and screamed at people waiting to book a room. All of this is on CCTV which has been given to the police.”
Cllr Tierney said so far the police have not done a lot: “They have attended a couple of times, but I would like to see a much stronger response.
“This is happening almost every night now, a member of the public said the same gang ran a scooter into a child, she was knocked over but was unharmed luckily, just a bit shaken up.”
He believes it is a gang of 12 to 13-year-olds with a few older boys who seem to be the ring leaders.

20 Arrests In Hare Coursing And Disorder Investigation
Dear Roy,
Earlier this week we emailed to update you on further arrests we have made as part of our investigation into violent disorder stemming from hare coursing across the county on 25 January.
Over the last two days, we have made another five arrests, taking the total number so far to 20.
A 25-year-old man was arrested at his home in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, yesterday morning (Tuesday), and since released on bail.
A 22-year-old man from Stourport-on-Severn, in Worcestershire, was arrested in Worcester last night, and three men, aged 18, 42 and 47 were arrested at their homes in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, this morning (Wednesday). All four remain in police custody in Peterborough.
All arrests have been on suspicion of violent disorder and attending a hare coursing event.
Other arrests:
- An 18-year-old man from Spalding, Lincolnshire, was arrested on 31 January
- A 26-year-old man from Grantham, Lincolnshire, was arrested on 31 January
- A 22-year-old man from Chelmsford, Essex, was arrested on 4 February
- A 51-year-old man from Chelmsford, Essex, was arrested on 4 February
- A 46-year-old man from Solihull, West Midlands, was arrested on 4 February
- A 30-year-old man from Basildon, Essex, was arrested on 5 February
- A 44-year-old man from Horton, Slough, was arrested on 12 February
- A 19-year-old man from Datchet, Slough, was arrested on 12 February
- A 44-year-old man from Datchet, Slough, was arrested on 12 February
- A 28-year-old man from Winkfield, Berkshire, was arrested on 12 February
- A 40-year-old man from Hungerford, Berkshire, was arrested on 13 February
- A 35-year-old man from Reading, Berkshire, was arrested on 18 February
- A 47-year-old man from Spalding, Lincolnshire, was arrested on 20 February
- A 20-year-old man from Spalding, Lincolnshire, was arrested on 20 February
- A 26-year-old man from Spalding, Lincolnshire, was arrested on 20 February
All men except those arrested this morning and the arrest in Worcester yesterday have been released on bail to return to Thorpe Wood Police Station in May, with strict conditions:
- Not to be in possession of, be in control of, or be in the company of any dog on private land without the owner’s written permission.
- When in possession of, in control of, or in the company of any dog, said dog must be on a lead.
- Not to be in a vehicle with any dog, whilst outside of a five-mile radius of your home address, unless for a pre-arranged veterinary appointment.
- Not to be in possession of a catapult or shot, such as ball bearing, and/or an air weapon or any part of an air weapon.
- You must not drive or be conveyed in a mechanically propelled vehicle onto private fields or agriculture field belonging to another person without written permission presentable to an officer.
- You must not use any public spaces, footpaths, bridleways or other such like areas belonging to the Local Authority or another unspecified person with the intention to hare course.
- You must not shout at, swear at, or intimidate any persons in the 12 counties of Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Kent, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire or Nottinghamshire.
The five men arrested in Slough and Berkshire also have the below condition:
- You must not shout at, swear at, or intimidate any persons in Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.

Beer Festival – Cheap Beer – In March
The Hippodrome in March holding 12-day beer festival with pints costing just over £2
A March pub will be hosting a 12-day beer festival offering a range of real ales including five from international brewers, costing just over £2 a pint.
The Hippodrome Wetherspoon in March will be kicking the festival off next week on Wednesday, March 5 and will continue until Sunday, March 16.
The overseas brewers, who are all women, are from Italy, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and the USA.
The beers will cost £2.15 a pint.

The international beers are Hey Pal (Terrapin Brewery, USA), Estuary Session Ale (Land & Sea Brewery, Canada), Wallaby (Penny Red Brewery, Australia), Chocolate Porta (Birra Perugia Brewery, Italy) and Antiopdean (Brew Moon Brewery, New Zealand).
