I have been requested to ‘correct’ the part of the article where ‘ as good as promised a ‘Community Centre’ ‘at the Station Road Recreation Ground.
I never said who at the meeting quoted this, so – as ever someone has ‘outed themselves on social media – I haven’t seen postings as not on SM – I reported this as it was heard and collaborated by a third person of ‘what we heard’.
I am as usual more than ‘happy’ to ‘alter’ (not correct), the wish of the ‘group’ who contacted me.
Note : The article below, written by myself has been independently verified by two local residents as factual and correct in the content.
I also state that I am 100% supportive of a ‘Community Centre/Hub’.
Please read article below.
Attention all oil tank owners!
We want to make sure that your tanks are safe from thieves, especially because they are usually outside and contain valuable fuel.
Here are some tips to help protect yours⬇️
🫣Hide the location of the tank
🔒Fit it with a padlock or lockable filler cap
⛓️Secure the tank within a cage
⏰Fit the tank with an electronic gauge that triggers an alarm if levels drop
💡Install security lights and CCTV cameras near to the tank
More advice can be found here.
If you do end up falling victim to these thieves, you can report to us by calling 101 or online

The never ending ‘Wish-List’ on a proper/bespoke ‘community centre’
Probably dozens have been lobbying me and a few others.
I have done ‘extensive‘ research and this week reported to ‘Social Enterprise Eastern Network.
Some again do not or will not accept the ‘facts’
More coming over the weekend.

Last night, the 3 monthly online meeting with March sector Neighbourhood Police Sergeant – to set ‘priorities’ for local area’s….Only one attended – ME.
So I had the whole meeting to myself –
Of course many residents are always concerned about ‘Parking’ – however as I and he have explained on so many occasions, parking is just a very small part of the police remit.
Their issues are sometimes more focused on ‘Drugs/Child exploitation/Organised crime.
Our neighbourhood Team, have had a number of drug successes locally.
Prolific shoplifting success, and given some support.
After 9am – this morning host Robert Windle will interview Roy Gerstner on his extensive knowledge of the Persian Gulf region having spent a great deal of time on ‘Super Tankers/VLCC’s’ during the late 1970’s/80’s and early 1990’s.
Months in the area, the rapid development of Air Transport Hubs (150 Million passengers a year) and the effect of The Strait of Hormuz.
Although it states the preference that FDC voted on, several including myself did not vote in favour of any of the options.
The Government will decide irrespective of ‘what’ FDC wants.
We could end up being ‘absorbed’ by Peterborough with its massive debts.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, Barry W and myself are unable to attend this planned event.
However there will be plenty of other opportunities to purchase a ‘lucky’ ticket including on the day at the event.
Policing Whittlesey comes under the March Neighbourhood Team.
The recent departure of PCSO Katrina, has been replaced.
We would like to welcome PCSO Rubens who has joined our March Neighbourhood Policing Team! – I see actively checking parking at one of our contentious streets St Mary’s Street – Why? … for every complaint about illegal/inconsiderate parking another esident will complain of ‘over enforcement’….can not win.

Rubens joined us after training and has had a busy few weeks settling in and getting to know the area.
During this time, he has:
👮Attended community engagement events.
👮Been out to the different villages in the area getting to know everyone.
👮Assisted other departments with crime enquiries.
Over the next few weeks, he will continue to get out and meet those in the area, and work at tackling the concerns of the community.
If you see him out and about, do stop and say hello!
You can learn more about your local neighbourhood team on our website.
