A Week Sunday we have another ‘FREE’ event The Whittlesey Festival’ with so much to see, do and entertain….BUT….

With more and more ‘vandalism’ being ‘reported’, more loss of shops/retail and oh dear me for saying such a thing – ‘feral dysfunctional youths‘ who are allegedly bored during holidays have nothing better to do.

When I recently engaged from my mobility truck’ with youths (8) on top of the World War II pillbox on the Bower Towpath, I was greeted with expletives and accused of being a ‘paedophile’  – that’s the last thing I need to be accused of.…
Frightening to say the least.
Yesterday I hear that ‘some’ were on top of the Co-Op building throwing off a concrete block….

What’s happening….why is it becoming so…..
Our electioneers for Lattersey Ward elections next week have ALL the answers – really..

Fenland District Council received ‘grant’ monies to spend of open spaces.
Cllr Mockett applied to have seating and the opening up of Church Street / 
St Andrews field.
I did put in an application, but he had already done so….

Broken fridge overload prompts LGA warning.

A message of caution has been issued over the accumulation of broken fridges at recycling centres amid a lack of council storage.
The Local Government Association (LGA) has said that many will be prevented from recycling fridges and freezers over the bank holiday weekend due to ‘ongoing national processing issues’.
It warned that appliances continue to ‘pile up at recycling centres’, as councils are being forced to use expensive temporary storage in the meantime.
The LGA highlighted the ‘significant backlog’ that has been compounded by recent heatwaves, as fridges and freezers are more prone to breaking in hotter temperatures.

Councils have asked residents to postpone their disposal of items, as well as confirming that they could have to restrict or refuse appliances due to sites being at their limits. Producer compliance schemes have also delayed or ended collections from council sites in some cases.
