Fen Cops
The start of a new month and we’ve already made eight arrests for drink-drive related offences across the county.
Two were here in Fenland:
A 55-year-old man was reported for erratic driving heading towards March town centre on Friday night. He was pulled over in the High Street and arrested after blowing 81 at the roadside – the legal limit is 35! He’s since been charged with drink driving and is due to appear in court next week.
A 30-year-old woman was involved in a collision with the central reservation in Churchill Road, Wisbech, in the early hours of yesterday morning. She was arrested after blowing 104 at the roadside – three times the limit! She’s been charged with drink driving and is due to appear in court later this month.
Did you know you can report information to us about drink drivers via our confidential hotline? It’s available 24/7 by calling 0800 032 0845.
If you witness someone drink driving, or believe you’re behind someone under the influence, always call 999.
Information about drink driving, the law and the penalties can be found on our website here https://orlo.uk/1EJbQ

Great British Spring Clean
I am very proud to have been a member of Whittlesey Street Pride, for some 15 years and a past chairman for 6 years. Today they still have a fantastic group who go out regularly to keep our ‘Gateways’ and other areas free from litter and rubbish.
There is no committment to come to every event and there are small groups tendering our ‘Gateway Projects’ all sponsored by local businesses.
Below, article from 2015 – when we had removed an estinated 40 tonnes of rubbish – I wonder what the figure maybe now – remember – this is someone elses rubbish they have left.
