Hair today – Gone tomorrow !

BBQ 82Okay – so the photo is from a while ago! Reading Alex the Green Party review in the Cambs Times© this week. Sorry Alex, Church Street where you wish to have further speed restrictions, already has a 20 mph speed limit at school times, the parking is such it is already difficult to do more than 20 anyway (I repeat I’ve lived along this part of Whittlesey for 37 years). We have a ‘Pinch’ in place at the Letter ‘B’ which some drivers ignore! Best of all – Who is going to ‘police’ this new limit! Not sure if you’ve passed your test yet!  – I have carried out on several occasions a ‘Speed Watch’ campaign with our local police – have you!

My friends and supporters tell me:

I am a dependable .
I am prepared to promote the electors views

Well done Martin C & People Power

Friday 15:13 – Cllr Martin Curtis has put BIG pressure onto Stagecoach National CEO. Writing a strongly worded e-mail….he has an answer to the effect that ‘Stagecoach’ are going to use the ‘New’ Bus stop from the 07th June.
This of course more or less ties in from when ‘Judds’ will probably not be running their service anymore.
A very good result…lets hope they keep to their word and find that the ‘New’ terminal works for everyone.

No No No – Buses Running from New Bus Stop!

It could happen that as Stagecoach are still ‘Reviewing’ their options. Today Judds Travel who run the commercial service 701 Whittlesey to Peterborough have had their licence revoked to take effect from June 09th. The route could be put out to tender.
It is not our councils fault when a commercial operator defaults in some way.
But it could be rather embarrassing to find that NO Buses run from the new facility.

Naturally, I working towards my re-election as the ‘Independent’ candidate for St Marys (Town) and St Andrews (District) and as the election comes closer, undoubtedly everyone will be sick and tired of the election on TV news.

Update Bricklayers Arms development

McCathy Stone 01An hour for Councillors before the Public consultation saw only myself and 2 other ‘present’ councillors attend, Mrs Laws was at a planning meeting and did attend later. Whether any of the others attended after 5pm when I left I don’t know. There were no ‘new’ prospective candidates, so perhaps shows who is interested in our town and who is not!
Thanks to Mandy Rawlings and Mr & Mrs Russ for highlighting to me of their concerns.
Naturally McCarthy Stone are in the pre-planning stages of this retirement type complex.
I understand there may be some dialogue with McCarthy Stone at the May planning meeting at WTC on 27th May.
You can view the plans and comment on their website….

Broad Street Bus stop

150427-01I do not understand, why there is a properly marked Bus stop on the outbound side of Broad Street in front of the Church and none the inbound side. This is becoming quite dangerous and concerning, the only marking is on the telephone pole shown in the picture (left) the Bus stops to let passengers on or off blocking most of the road, this photo taken yesterday shows a car overtaking.
Besides normal traffic going towards Peterborough, traffic is attempting to come out of NISA car park.

I will attempt to find out if Cambs Highways are aware of this issue.

Please think before Voting

Naturally I am looking to be ‘re -elected’ and need as many votes as possible – as I am the ‘underdog’ in this campaign.
I respect the ‘Green Party’ putting up a candidate – however when I spoke twice with him  – he told me, ‘Had I have known you were standing – I would have looked elsewhere to stand’
Alex is a very nice young man – just leaving Sir Harry Smith school he has his life in front of him and some serious ‘studying’ to do at Peterborough University over the next few years – he will NOT have the time or commitment to put in to be a councillor, I therefor urge ALL and everyone who has leanings to vote for Alex to vote for me instead – My Green credentials I have made well known – and I am the only ‘serious’ candidate to stand against the very strong conservative candidates in St Marys and St Andrews.
I have 4 years experience of questioning and holding to account the 13 previously elected conservative group.
If you want a democratic council vote for Roy Gerstner.

The Good CouncillorHas your ‘candidate’ read and understood the 62 page document on the left.

I have and I do understand my responsibilities and commitment to you the elector.
