The Mud Wall Group will be in the Car Park area of the ‘Black Bull’ on Sunday 08th September – When The Whittlesey Festival will take place.
Fenland District Council and the Hereward Community Rail partnership are working with Greater Anglia to install new waiting shelters at Manea and Whittlesea railway stations this Autumn (2019). The shelters are part of the ongoing railway station improvement works in Fenland, supported and funded by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority.
Two new waiting shelters will be installed at Whittlesea station, with one on each of the Peterborough and Ely bound platforms. One will be installed at Manea station on the Peterborough bound platform.
Now we would like station users to vote for their favourite type of shelter from three shortlisted designs. The designs are:
a) Accoya: Modular rail shelter crafted from durable, renewable Accoya wood
b) Paragon: Anti-vandal shelter made from stainless steel with glazed panels to withstand vandalism and reduce maintenance costs
c) Voyager: Vandal resistant shelter constructed from stainless steel with aluminium extrusions

Tomorrow I will be visiting a Whittlesey resident who has been scammed today, I will hopefully sort her computer out and put Anti-Scam & Spam software on her computer.
I do this in my role as Chairman of Whittlesey NHW and there are no charges involved.
It began with a bogus e-mail coming from a Whittlesey Organisation Chairman (so she thought) and she replied to it !!!!! – the scammer then got into a conversation and asked for ‘Amazon’™ Gift Card…..£100 then £50 then £30 – when she gave me a call…..

For a number of years, residents of Ponderbridge have complained about speeding issues.
There is an active ‘Speed-Watch’ group who have ‘clocked’ vehicles going at more than 70mph through the village.
(30mph speed limit).
Cambs CC Cllr David Connor has for some time been trying to raise funding for a LHI – (Local Highway Improvements)
He has successfully obtained a commitment from PCC Jason Ablewhite, Cambs CC and Whittlesey TC – however WTC Councillors thought that Ramsey Town Council should also contribute to the scheme. At Ramsey TC last month a formal proposal was passed and agreed to fund up to £3,000 towards the LHI traffic calming scheme at Pondersbridge.
WTC Cllr Miscandlon and Whitewell both spoke in favour at the meeting.
