Today another resident who took the time to contact Mayor Palmer has received a reply.
The two replies are consistent in there content….It looks very much like ‘we’ are relying on Mayor Palmer to hold Cambs CC to account. (That of course depends on who! may be re-elected or elected as Mayor at the next elections)

The 3rd and final Whittlesey Town Council – Music-On-The Square, remained dry with even some sun. Several hundred attended, old, young and children, BYO – bring your own food and drink if you wished. Some good music and plenty of dancing in the square.
20 Bags of Litter & Rubbish collected in an hour in and around Manor Field.
The annual Whittlesey Street Pride Party took place last night – thanks to our hosts Alan & Lisa for their fantastic hospitality as always. I did attend but not in the photo….
Update on the ‘old’ Morley’s Petrol Pumps site….here are this mornings photos – through the wire fence. I understand if all goes well that October may well be the target date for completion. Certainly the ‘Hole’ to clear any contaminated land looks pretty impressive about 12 foot (4 metres) deep.
As you may be aware, the ‘bulk’ of the funding is coming from the Mayor of The Combined Authority (Cambridgeshire & Peterborough).
Both in the documents presented to the E & E committee yesterday and one member stated that ‘Costs’ could go up as well as down, depending on the tenders that are submitted.

There was ‘some’ questioning’ about the parallels to the ‘Ely By-Pass’ in that what appeared to have been ‘open-ended’ funding for the Ely project to come about and fast tracked at what-ever expense.
The vote was taken and it was unanimous decision, to proceed with the tendering of the built phase (Option 3 remains the choice) with a target completion date of 2022 !!!!!
