He Keeps On Going – Tony H
As with Captain Tom, this little boy has reached the hearts of many and I am very happy to keep promoting him – Tony Hudgell who was severely abused by his parents and as a result has several disabilities – you can read the story – here –

I am pretty sure several of my avid readers have been generous to support this little boy.~~

New Queen Street Surgery – Update
From 15th June members of the public must wear a face covering at all times on public transport or when attending a hospital as a visitor or outpatient. The public is further advised “If you can, you should also wear a face covering in other enclosed public spaces where social distancing isn’t possible and where you will come into contact with people you do not normally meet. This is most relevant for short periods indoors in crowded areas.”
Given this, we will require all members of the public to wear a face covering whilst in our buildings with effect from Weds 17th June until further notice.
The aim of this is to minimise the dispersal of respiratory secretions, reduce both direct transmission risk and environmental contamination.
See link below for all latest proceedures at NQS
https://www.thenewqueenstreetsurgery.co.uk/
Key Points
1. Patients will be expected to provide their own face covering.
2. In emergencies, our sites can provide a Type 2 facemask but this must be in emergency situations only.
3. In line with national guidance the following exceptions can be applied
a. Children under the age of 3
b. Patients unable to put on or wear a face covering because of any physical or mental illness or impairment, or disability
c. Patients with breathing difficulties and respiratory problems that may be exacerbated by wearing a face covering
d. Anyone with anatomical difficulties that would make wearing a face covering impossible or painful e.g. facial injuries
e. Anyone who experiences severe discomfort or distress while wearing a face covering e.g. those with severe claustrophobia
f. A face mask should not be worn by patients if there is potential for their clinical care to be compromised (for example, when receiving oxygen therapy via a mask)

Someone Asked…..
With news coming from Peterborough that ‘Vivacity’ the Charitable Trust that ran leisure failities, gyms, swimming pools and the key theatre to name a few – is to hand all back to Peterborough City Council – there is great uncertainty of the future for many of the venues
——– How does effect us in Whittlesey – ——-
Well all of Fenland’s leisure facilities are operated by ‘Freedom Leisure’ (Charitable Trust)
who manage the 4 Fenland Leisure Centres (Manor Leisure in Whittlesey) – they won a competitive tender in 2018 for a 15 year partnership with FDC.
There has been a substantial investment in Gym equipment recently.
However since COVID-19 – All has closed down.
It is my understanding that ‘Freedom’ have asked FDC for some financial assistance but as to what extent I don’t know – as ‘Freedom’ run many other Council Leisure facilities beyond Fenland and how their financial setup I don’t know as yet (I may well find out).
So if you have membership to failities run by Vivacity – then if/when or maybe they are allowed to gradually open then you will have to make contact with Peterborough CC.
I would say that the chances of the ‘Lido’ opening this year is very slim indeed.
As too when the Manor Leisure Centre reopens this will be down to the Governments easing of restrictions – maybe we shall hear something in the next week or so.
