KD X – Builders Update…..

A message from local member and leader at Fenland District Council, Cllr Chris Boden:

It’s been another positive two weeks on site for our contract Jones Bros and this week we have an impressive drone picture of the site – where you can really see the project starting to take shape.

The ground improvement works are progressing well and have reached where the western roundabout will be located.
This activity is scheduled to be completed by the end of the next week.

In section one, which runs from the western roundabout to the underpass structure adjacent to Star Pit quarry, approximately 150m of the embankment is now in place.
The work on these earthworks are expected to last until November.

In the last update, we shared that Jones Bros would be installing track monitoring points along the railway to ensure the track is not affected by the construction of the bridge in any way.
I’m pleased to say that these points are in place and will be monitored daily by the team on site.

Keep safe everyone and don’t forget the enhanced national Test and Trace app which launched yesterday – we all have our part to play in controlling the virus and saving lives.

Regards,
Chris

How we’re continuing to inform during the pandemic

This week marks 6 months since the beginning of lockdown.
To mark this, we have published a statement to give an overview of the work we’re planning to ensure the UK continues to get the information it needs to inform the response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

In today’s blog post, Liz McKeown and Darren Morgan, who are leading the analytical response, reflect on how we’ve responded to the coronavirus pandemic to date and look ahead at our future plans.

It Is Up To YOU – NHS COVID-19 Track & Trace

I’ve got the ‘App’ and will only cover ‘android phones here’ – At long last there maybe just maybe a chance of curtailing this dreadful virus.

How/why – It has been extremely sucessful in the Far East (that said they are much more disciplined and enforcement much more visual and effective.

On an ‘android’ device go to the ‘Google™ Store or Play’ and just search ‘NHS track & Trace’ – The one is NHS COVID-19.
Once downloaded just go through the simple set up process.

More information coming…..

Have Your Say on Road Safety Enforcement

In 2018 1,784 people were killed on Britain’s roads – this included 456 pedestrians and 48 children. In addition, 25,511 people were seriously injured.

The Government is currently reviewing roads policing, and what the future of traffic law enforcement may look like. The Association of Police and Crime Commissioners are conducting a national survey and are keen to hear your views.

I would like to invite you to complete this short survey to help inform the Police and Crime Commissioner’s response to Government.
The survey can be accessed by clicking this link   https://bit.ly/3kH0yIN

The 60 second survey is open until 17:00 on the 30th September

Kindest regards,
Connie Anker
Communications and Engagement Officer
Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner

Police Maybe – Anywhere…..

Reports back to me – there has been a more visible policing in the area lately – I have spoken with officers from March and Wisbeach Police Teams this week whilst they were in town.

Evening, I hope your day has been a good one.
I am still at work at the moment , and just have time to give you all a quick message. Today, has been quite straightforward, school patrol and discussing issues with local residents.
Later a report of youths riding a moped on a recreation ground in a anti social manner, resulted in a serious discussion with said youths. Formal action against the moped owner may yet result.

Just another day at the Office.
Stay safe.
