Ramsey Road – Pondersbridge B1040 – Road Closed…
Ambulances – Blue Flashers – 2 vehicles (one on roof) – it was all going too well.
Some are blaming the state of the road – sorry the road condition does not help, but drive to the conditions, not a good road to overtake, – drivers cause most accidents not roads.
My disappointment today that no weight given to many Councillors to have the LHI in Pondersbridge put back a few days – to get the A605 re-opened.
We’ve seen this before – I call it the perfect storm – No practical way to get in/out of Whittlesey – unless you go via March Road/Guyhirn and guess what ‘Road Works’

Pondersbridge Local Highways Improvements
Several Councillors including myself have had a 2 day exchange of e-mails regarding the bringing forward of this initiative. Under ‘normal’ circumstances everyone would welcome an early start, however with the A605 closed this is not a good idea.
Cambridgeshire Highways have not moved, they plan to start the work on the 10th August (Maybe some prep work before) and it looks like traffic light controls will be in place.
I am waiting to hear back from our County Councillors – but going by this mornings e-mails I don’t hold much hope.
If you have strong views or will be further inconvienienced I suggest you contact Cambs County Council.

Bellmans Road – Nearly There
After more than 8 weeks of digging and replacing of services, I see that the ‘Road Resurfacing’ Team are putting Tarmac down…..many will be very happy at long last.
I wonder how long it will last!

LHI – Pondersbridge
Very active on social media this weekend, the ‘bringing forward’ of a traffic calming/mamagement improvement at Pondersbridge – has caused uproar in respect that the A605 is closed and 75% of traffic and 100% of HGV’s are using Pondersbridge/Ramsey Road/Church Street.
Unusual that anything like this actually comes forward, I can asure that several Whittlesey/Coates Councillors are on the case…

A Little Quality Time – Scilly Isles
So with William, Kate and Kids going to the Scilly Isles this week, our own journey recently, (booked last December) to a place with Nil/Zero cases of Covid-19 was very nice.
Must’nt make it sound too good otherwise everyone will go…. The Scillonian Ship had 3+ hours of wearing face coverings and all the restuarants were very well geared up.
To top it – very good weather….
